Have you checked the trichs under a microscope? The super skunk should be ready when 1/2 to 3/4ths the trichs are brown... Thats easy to check for. With mostly sativa strains I always like to use a microscope to be sure, because sometimes it takes 2 weeks or longer for their trichs to mature...

Are you going with tubes over HID because of money? Or because of heat?

Have you tried removing the intake tube on your light and pulling air from the cabinet through your light? Cooltubes work great but they dont replace good ventillation from the main grow area..

You can get a 400w HPS from e-conolight.com for just over $100, its the cheapest you can go but it doesn't have hanging hooks (youd have to make your own on it) and the ballast and reflector are all one peice but my first grow was with one of the 400 watts and it worked great.

I don't know about the whole "tricking the plant" theory but I do that in my grows simply because the extra light = more energy to finish the buds. last 2 weeks is too short of a time for the plant to start vegging again. I highly recommend it.
