DIY glass shield is it worth it??

So you are saying that you dont need tempered glass? Cause non tempered glass is cheaper than tempered glass. So do you think a non tempered glass shield will work? Does tempered glass really mess up the light wavelengths? Cause if it did, then why are people selling reflector hoods with...

DIY glass shield is it worth it??

I have a cabinet that is L40" x W30". My local glass store can fabricate a 6 mm tempered glass 40"x30" panel for 80 bux. I will be using a 600 watt hps. Should I buy this tempered glass panel to isolate the heat at the top of my cabinet and exhaust it out? If I buy a new reflector that is L20"...

400W MH - Distance from Plants

I was wondering the same thing. I can put my hand about 7 inches away from my metal halide and it will not feel uncomfortable, so does this mean I can put my 400 watt MH 8 inches away from the top of my plants?

    Can it be done?

It should work. Use one of the fans to exhaust the hot air out of your grow area, maybe into another room. If your grow area is a closet then exhaust the hot air out of your closet and into the room. you have a small space so a good fan should be able to pull hot air out of your small space...

400w mh setup plz let me know wot u think

How do you plan to keep the height of you plants down? You only have about 4 feet of tent height. How strong of a fan are you using to exhaust the hot air out of your tent? I my closet size is similar to yours and I would like to know how you tackled the heat problem.

Closet SCROG grow setup, 600W hps, no COOLTUBE

The closet is sealed from the room. the exhaust takes the hot air from the closet and into the room. If I really have to I can exhuast the hot air from the closet out of the room and into another room.

Closet SCROG grow setup, 600W hps, no COOLTUBE

so the grow area is 3 feet by 3 feet, the height of the closet is 54 inches(4.5 feet). The grow closet is about 50 cubic feet. Iam using a 600 watt hps for flowering and 400 mh for veg. Do I really need a cool tube for a space that small? If I put a really good fan with a really high CFM I...

Inline fans, push or pull air?

Well with a cooltube working properly, you can have your canopy closer to the bulb and not get plant burn. The heat that is given off by the bulb generally stays inside the cooltube, and then gets pushed or pulled out of the grow closet. The heat will have less impact on the ambient...

1100 CFM whisper quiet turbo air fan, useful?

moding it to fit a duct should be pretty easy. as for being skeptical about the cfm, I agree. I emailed them just waiting for their reply. Its odd that the closer you are to the fan the smaller the cfm, but as you get farther away from the face of the fan your cfm goes up?

1100 CFM whisper quiet turbo air fan, useful?

It should be around 40 bux. The stanley blower is loud, but I think this one is quieter. If you look on the website, it says this fan, 20 feet away from the fan the cfm is 11000!!

1100 CFM whisper quiet turbo air fan, useful?

http://www.seabreeze.ca/fans/TurboAire/turboaire.html I can get my hands on this for pretty cheap, but do you guys think a fan like this is useful? Inline fans thats rated at 170 cfm is like $130, this thing is rated at 1100 cfm . connect this fan to a duct and run the duct into your...

Inline fans, push or pull air?

I think pushing is also better. You probally dont want all that hot air running through your fan. If you put your fan after your intake but before your long ducting both your intake and exhaust are not compromised and will be able to operate at its highest CFM. Sure since you are pushing air...

What's the best way to attach mylar ?

Try using staples. Or you could use a strip of velcro. Tape one side of the velcro to your cabinet and the other side of the velcro to the mylar, and then apply the mylar to the cabinet with both velcro strips touching, that should hold it.

Inline fans, push or pull air?

I have read that inline fans are propulsive, so they are best used to push air instead of pulling air? What should my set up be. 1)window(source of fresh air)-->inline fan(pushing air)--> 5FT of duct-->cooltube-->exhaust out OR 2)window(source of fresh...
