Dont know if it will work, we need to know the ph of the medium, thats the important issue with different mediums. Im sure if it was good, people would use it. I believe some greenhouses use sawdust for tomatoes but you have to watch what type of wood it's derived from.

You really have to watch diagnosing plants because alot of problems have very similiar signs, very easy to mistaken one defficiency for another one. They do look good tho. Dont panic and stop pumping shit into them in hopes of 'fixing' things. If anything the ppm is too high.

Only way to fix a weak exhaust is to get a stronger fan. Put a fan on the intake first, Im quite confident that another fan will fix your problem.

Best bet would be to get another fan, identical to the exhaust fan and mount it at your current intake hole. This will change things ALOT !!! It will allow the air to be exchanged alot more than what it is now.

Dont forget to have some air coming in as well. Without an intake it makes it alot harder to keep the room cooler because the only source would be from parts if the room that arent sealed.

When I start my plants in a system like this, or even on a flood and drain table, I water them from the top for a few days till the roots get goin on thier own. Tap water. Dont "add" the strength of the nutes you want to the ppm of the tap water. Example... If you want to give then 5oo ppm...
