Yeah, I think Don Geno recommended the same thing with my Alien grow. I bounced that off of my wife and she agrees that by training it to grow around the rim of the pot that it would probably would really help yield so I am considering it. And like I mentioned, this has been recommended before.

I had a friend of mine years ago that swore that if you grew next to roses that the roses acted like a natural sweetener. He had some pretty incredible smoke back then. I don't know if that was because he grew next to roses or not, but great stuff.

They do use a ballast. It is my understanding that under the plastic tub, at the bottom of The Tron, there is a ballast that connects all of the wires from the bulbs and converts electricity from the wall socket to the appropriate wattage (?) for each bulb. Finding one of those might be tricky...
