For All Cap Ebb and Grow Users

It depends on the strain. I veg sour diesels for 2 weeks, but I top them to 4-5 nodes a few days before I flip them and they end up 5ft+ and evenly spaced. I would veg a shorter indica 4-5 weeks and train it a bit to fill the space. I veg my 24 in a separate space under a 400w MH on a 3x3...

    2011 Cherry Kush lineup

So far so good for 2011. This is the Cherry Kush garden. Killing it this year, and coming down as we speak. I have heard of people having mediocre results with CK outdoors, but I think it looks fantastic. It is finishing pretty early also... For comparison, I have some diesels that are...

I see where you are coming from. I had that strategy on my previous grows. This time around I changed things up, and I see no real difference yet. Same strain, nutes, etc...only longer intervals between dumps. I have no deficiency symptoms, and all plants are healthy and strong. I am only 3...

For All Cap Ebb and Grow Users

I changed weekly on my last grow, and was told by multiple people that weekly is too often. Some suggested 2-3 weeks, and researchkitty said she goes the whole grow without dumping. I went the first 3 weeks of flower this time around without dumping, and I see no difference compared to weekly...

Norcal outdoor 2011 (saving the season)

I would stop spraying ~2 weeks before harvest since there is about a 2 week residual. Those 1-day PHIs are for edible crops that can be washed off. There is no PHI for smokable product, unless you start looking at labels for tobacco (idea?). Just to be on the safe side.

Norcal outdoor 2011 (saving the season)

Saccharopolyspora spinosa is the actual bacteria that Spinosad is derived from. The active ingredients in Spinosad are spinosyn A & D, which are derived from the fermentation of S. spinosa. Braconid and Trichogramma wasps can be harmed by this, but they are not responsible for a large amount...

Norcal outdoor 2011 (saving the season)

Spinosad works like a dream on budworms. It also has a residual control like 20x longer than Bt. Organic, safe for beneficials, etc etc....

    Nutrients and pH article

I came across a good article on nutrients and pH, and thought I would pass it along. *Warning...a bong rip or 2 may be required...

My conversion to 3/4" PVC went very well. The buckets flood more or less at the same rate, and much quicker. The drain cycle also goes faster. I had a problem in my first go-around in this system where the roots grew into the tubing and plugged it up a bit. When this happens, all the plants...

CAP told me the check valves were just a temp fix for some units, and that my system does not need them. Just FYI.

Who wants to play this fun guessing game? (pics) what's going on here?

It doesnt look like a deficiency, so I would guess it's your neem. Magnesium def shows itself as an interveinal chlorosis on the lower leaves. What I think you have are crispy leaves that looks like they got sprayed when the lights were on.

Spinosad is what you need. Google it.

FUCKING CATERPILLARS? What can i do?

Bt and Spinosad are both OMRI listed. Bt is Bacillus thuringiensis, a bacteria, that acts as a stomach poison to lepidoptera (moths/caterpillars), among others. The insect has to injest it, so it is only toxic to pests that eat your plant. Spinosad is another biological with action against...

    Bubble cloners - how long?

I use a DIY aerocloner, and I usually get roots in 5-10 days with tapwater. I dont bubble the water however....I have 1/2" PVC in the shape of an 'H' fitted to a submersible pump with cheapo 360 degree 1/4" spray barbs spaced evenly throughout. I cant remember a time that I actually lost a...

    Freaking THRIPS!!!

Dont use Avid for thrips. Avid is mainly a miticide, and miticides are the some of the most toxic pesticides to humans aside from broad-spectrum insecticides like Lannate. Spinosad is the product of choice for thrips. I eliminated an infestation with one application. You can also find it...

White Bugs In My Fox Farm Soil and Some On The Leaves

Those look like thrips. Those are not aphids, mites, whiteflies or springtails. Juvenile thrips do not have wings, so they jump around everywhere. They are very easy to kill. I knocked down an infestation with one application of Spinosad.

    HELP with pest ID

I cant tell if it has 1 or 2 pairs of wings in the photo. If it has 1 pair, it is in the fly family (probably a gnat). 2 pair, and it is a beneficial wasp.
