Add some peat moss or vermiculite to your soil, they both hold water. Also mulch around the base of your plants help.

Computer fans work excellent for small grow areas. I had a few of these hung next to my fixtures last time.

    New Thread, New Farmer

Ah, just pick up some cheap fixtures from home depot. They're less than $2 apiece if you get the ones without a cord yet they want 4x that for a fixture with a cord. I bought a bunch of the cheap fixtures and some 99 cent extension cords to snip and use for the power cords. Even better get a Y...

    How much longer!!!????

The downside to using hydro is you don't get the microbe activity as you do with a soil medium. In optimum conditions, hydro will get your plant finished maybe a week earlier. Put side by side, planted at the same time, a hydro plant will have many many more main stalks than one grown in soil at...

Why won't your setup allow for the lights to get closer? Just set something under the seedling containers to raise them up?

    Growing in Sand

It's used almost exclusively in bonsai so I'd assume you'd be perfectly fine using sand. You would probably be better off using perlite instead of vermiculite since the sand will already hold enough moisture itself. My neighbor used to grow some pretty impressive stuff in just white beach sand...

    Need advice on mothers

Think of it as "trimming the lawn." As a general rule of thumb, always keep 1/3 of the foliage.

    Need advice on mothers

Why can't you just trim them down to manageable size? You really don't need mothers to be that big. The plant shouldn't flower anyway.

    Young Ones

Don't stake during veg anyway, wanna get your plants as strong as you can before they start packing on weight from buds. Just keep them alive and the lights as close as you can, and the plant will do the work itself.

    Seaweed for foliar spray?

Organic nutes won't burn your leaves themselves, it's light heating up the moisture that hurts them. People who say it does, are assuming you are using chemical nutes, and these will destroy any kind of living creature in the wrong amounts. TLDR- if you plan on foliar feeding, use Alaska...

    light schedule for veggies

18/6, veggies don't require light cycle changes to bear fruit. Tomatoes for example flower from excess sugar. I had a few different kinds I grew in my veg room, everything seemed to do way better with the 6 hours of darkness than with 24/0.

Red tinge growing on plants stems

Like I said, just one time. Mix probably a tablespoon to a gallon, then water it in. People tend of overfeed at the sign of a def. With a case like this where you don't know if it's a def or not, overfeeding can kill if using hot nutes.

Roots coming out the top soil

Root production ceases about two weeks into flowering. Don't risk a transplant, if this is your first grow. Roots growing out the top of the soil is sometimes a sign of watering too shallow, so for future reference, be sure to soak your medium evenly.

    Seaweed for foliar spray?

Seaweed is great for everything, but I wouldn't really recommend foliar spraying inside. If you're hurting for nitrogen I'd invest in some fish emulsion to go with your seaweed. Also with organic nutes like a seaweed supplement, you can add some with every watering.
