regular shop lights won't do. i go for high lumen count cfls, around 10000 average per plant. as for a sil grow, never tried it.

i used a soda bottle with sugar and yeast last time around, and i thought there was a noticeable result in growth and yield.

northern lights is nice, quick and easy. as for seed banks i always use gypsy nirvana, never a problem.

oh shit.....i mount the lights with screw in hooks. one holding the light up, another at the back of the box to hold the wire and add some antifalldown security.

try getting four cfl either 120 or 150, they don't get too hot, but good idea to keep the hot air moving out. i usually have a exh fan up top, one intake at bottom, and one just blowing around. there are some really small desk fans (kind of look like those big commercial types) i like them...

craft stores sometimes have mylar.........consider some good ole duct tape for sealing light in....perhaps a folded over flap taped at the door seam would help(tried and works).....

don't think that 12/12 right away is a good idea.......try something more like 16 of light other dark....12/12 could confuse the hell out of the little guys/girls. i did 16 of light once and it only took about a month to mature enough for flowering.

yeah, go with mylar...its cheap, and reflects light like crazy. i couldn't believe the change it made first time i taped it in my setup

sounds odd, but i actually have lady bugs that roost in my set up.....they are predator bugs and seem to keep everything else out, and they don't hurt the veg. i call them my little preatorians.

if you want to add co2 cheap----take a 2 liter soda bottle--clean--2 cups sugar-two three tablespoons yeast--fill with water--shake up--leave cap off or its a bomb--place in box--co2 factory working.........you'll see bubbles after a few days, its co2

never thought it would work....need something that has a carbon cartridge i think. also some coffee grounds on a plate, in the open masks a lot of things.....seems most people smell coffee first.....addicts

check out your local ikea or home depot...they have some cool little cabinet boxes that are white and can quickly be converted with a few cfls and are rather stealthy. (just vent out the back and you'll be growin')
