the plastic baggies were there for the first 5 days or so to keep moisture in. as you can see by looking at the bottom of my box its not sealed so it doesnt really serve as a greenhouse as there is plenty of air circulating in and out.

i have mine on a board with a plastic/clear tub bungied over the top to keep rain,wind and pests away. they have been going for appx 2 weeks. ive had to shim the tub up already as one of the girls is already growing out of this set up.

it should work out well. they will get plenty of sun and should blend in well.

i also put 2 seeds (lemonesse) in the ground at my hunting camp. i soaked them in water for 24hrs then put them in seeding soil mix in the center of my organic soil mix with one in a pot 1/2 burried and 1 in the ground. i watered them in good but dont know what to expect. its been extremely dry...

i am starting my first grow. these will be in areca palm trees in my yard. i was going to plant them in the flower beds but after watching my wife play volleyball with the kids and them go right into the beds after a stray ball i knew it wasnt going to work. so heres my plan. i have 4 seedlings...

like cayenne powder? it has no ill affect on the little girls?

ok boys...there in the seeding mix in "red solo cup"s. its kick off time. the sprouts were definatly ready. the roots were about an inch long. little curly q's.

what is the next best potting soil besides kellogg's they do not carry it at my home depot or lowes.

ok... so home depot didnt have kellogs patio plus in-store so i will have to find another top soil to use. however i bought some mg seeding soil,peat moss, perlite and alaskan fish fert today so i can get these babies in the dirt this afternoon. i dont think i should add the fish fert yet...

ok thanks. i will grab some seeding soil today. as of tuesday morning the seeds already cracked open. i didnt check them yesterday but i would imagine they are about ready to go in dirt. last minute trip out of town for the weekend tomorrow morning so i hope they are ready. ;)

should i be worried about squirrels and rats? thats really the only animals i have around here. my dogs are pretty good about keeping them away.

newbie to growing. i went to a local hydro store for worm castings. they had black gold worm castings. i didnt know what to expect as far as the bag etc. it actually just looks like a bag of soil. here is a link to what i bought. is the right stuff...

Yes the question changed. Last year I started late and wanted to extend the light hours. I eventually terminated the grow. This year I am looking to start some seeds on 4/20 Anne want to make sure the lights won't keep them from flowering.

bump. will 100w landscape lights mess with light cycles? getting ready to start a backyard grow but dont want my lights to affect daylight hours. anyone???

mine will go in areca palms. these trees cant be climpbed and the braches only grow upright. its going to be a challenge to fasten pots/buckets but i have some ideas. i will start another thread when i get started. just got to get my beans germinated and ill get it going.
