Ok, so its been about 3 weeks since ive planted from seed and my three plants are really starting to smell. Anyone got some advise on how to safely deal with the smell. I do live in an apartment so cutting down on smell is kind of a big deal.

I had the same problem snowcap. I would get a couple CFL's.... some 6500ks and maybe even a single warm CFL(i think they are 2700k?) to give a broader spectrum and keep them 1-3 inches above it. That set-up is really busting out foliage for me.... just some advise.

OK, so i currently have 3 plants that are 12 days old. They are under CFL's right now. This weekend I am picking up my 175W MH that I used to use for an aquarium, so Ill have that for lighting. My question is.... Will 175W MH be enough for the 3 plants to veg, or should I keep some of the CFLs...

As long as you keep the temp. down you can have as many lights as you want. But technically... there comes a point when the plants won't be able to absorb energy at an efficient rate compared to the energy you are lighting with... but since you only have 2 48's more would def help

I am 10 days into my first batch ever. I was just wondering how long it should be before the "teardrop" leaves get yellow and start to fall off. Anyone know a standard time period for that? One set is just now starting to loose a little color, but the rest are all still full green and healthy.

You might be able to save them if you stop the humidifier and get a small fan. High moisture + lack of air flow is great for fungus. I don't know any chemical/additive remedies, but get a fan and it might help dry out the fungus

Yeah, they are the cool. I have 2 out of sockets and 1 1.5-foot-long tube. However... I was thinking about picking up 2 more lights to speed things up. How many lumens or Watts should I need for flowering when the time comes? Thanks for the advise

I'm only running a total of about 2300 lumens over 4 plants. they stretched a little bit until i moved my lights within a couple of inches from my plants. It seems to be working fine for me and you have more lumens. My friend just finished veg. with 2 cfls and its a beaut. so it CAN be done...

Yeah they already stretched but I added another tube and lowered the lights and they seem to be doing much better

I also have a 175W MH ordered, but it will take me a week to get it. could i flower with MH, and just expect a smaller yeild? or do i really need the hps light spectrum

I have 4 9-day-old plants going right now under 2300 lumens from cfl's. Is this enough output? Also, would this be a sufficient amount of light to take it through budding? I am trying to keep costs down so would it be OK to flower without an hps?

Hey Goonin08, I have 4 going right now that look just like that but taller and they are about a week old. How far away is your light from the plant? I realized that mine were "stretching" to get closer to the light source. I lowered my lighting to within a few inches and it really helped out.
