Sounds like a fun experiment. I'd like to mention a few things you didn't. First, OMRI certification means that a product is approved for organic crop production but not necessarily that the OMRI certified product is made from organically produced/sourced products. I assume the vast majority...

Always best to do it the way that works best for you. I use a scalpel and mini propane torch. The blade gets red hot in about 10 seconds.

Flame sterilizing with a torch works as well. Much faster and less messy than using an oxidizer imo.

I can't confirm if that's true, but I've heard it from more than one person.

Seeds here now has great descriptions of all the crosses from the latest drop. @GrownAtHighAltitude nailed the descriptions of northern lights afaik When matt riot and that other dude interviewed seattle greg, he said nl1 was a cross of steve murphy's afghan and a mazar-i-sharif that nevil...

    magnesium, Iron or zinc deficiency

I came back because I realized that increasing the volume of the soil by using the same soil will keep the ppms of all nutrients the same as ppms are a ratio to begin with not the total amount in the soil. That brings me back to saying the correct course of action is to increase the amount of...

    magnesium, Iron or zinc deficiency

I can, but I have no reason to since you've totally ignored all the other data I've provided and continue to argue with me.

If you think slownickel is a lout spewing bro science, then I have nothing more to say to you.

    magnesium, Iron or zinc deficiency

It seems like you just want to argue with me because you keep twisting my words....or you don't read carefully. I wrote there is no reason to up-pot a plant to provide proper nutrition. Yes, it will increase the amount of nutrients in proportion to the increase in soil volume. If there are only...

    magnesium, Iron or zinc deficiency

That chart may apply to the soil solution which is basically the nutrients in the water portion of the soil, but it has absolutely zero correlation to the composition of the soil which is what I was talking about. There are cation exchange sites in the soil where the positive ions(cations)...

    magnesium, Iron or zinc deficiency

Ok. I'm done then. I'm sure you'll be happy that you won't have to have any of your beliefs challenged anymore. If you ever take a moment to read slownickel's thread on I-c-m-a-g or read "more food from soil chemistry" you"ll see what I mean. I'm not an idiot.

    magnesium, Iron or zinc deficiency

It's apparent to me that y'all will never believe anything I write regardless of how much "proof" I provide, but high calcium does not block the uptake of p or k. Low calcium will definitely block p uptake though. Hard water isn't good for nutrient availability. It's more likely the hard water...

    magnesium, Iron or zinc deficiency

Hey Kass, ask and you shall receive. I stumbled upon this video with two soil consultants that learned some things from the same agronomist I did(Mike Crady/@slownickel). One of the consultants(Matt LePlante) had 8 or 10 different bagged soils analyzed. He happened to test two bags of FFOF from...

    Dolemite Lime new Grow

You certainly are in a quandry there with changing soil pH by top dressing. At least topdressing with lime will give you more ca and mg, but I'd be surprised if it changes the pH of the lower half of the pots. Still worth a shot imo. Since lime takes a long time to become available, I'd mix it...

    Citric Acid

You may be right that the calcium does not enter the root at the tip. What I was meaning to say was that the calcium cannot enter the root without the exudates from the root tips. Btw, we're all on the same team here. I grow organically with microbes. I learned to grow in 2010 by reading the...

    Citric Acid

You're using big words, but you don't know what you're talking about. (edit: I think we are just misunderstanding each other) As far as the pH issue, I was referring specifically to ca++ being turned into caco3 by water with more than 65 ppms of bicarbonates in an alkaline soil, thus rendering...

    Citric Acid

Why are you equating calcium to water? Organic and amino acid exudates from the root tips are the only way to pick up calcium by a root.

    Citric Acid

We all know plants crave electrolytes!! That's why Brawndo works LOL. Seriously though, I know that. The pH of the rhizosphere doesn't change the composition of the soil. The composition of the soil drives the soil chemistry. Why do you think professional farmers get soil tests and amend...
