    ScrOG?

Scrogging helps me keep the top of my canopy even. Fiming has increased my yield, a lot. I do it every time I find a new top forming thru most of the veg phase.

What are the Best Nutrients for Hydroponics?

I think most of the nute lines are good if you follow the manufacturer's recommendations. House & Garden's line is very popular where I am. So is Heavy16, although I've read not so good reviews for hydro with it. You can't go wrong with the lucas formula if you know when you see a deficiency...

Anyone having any skin cancer issues with HPS and LED lights?

When you do decide to go to a Dermatologist, PM me and I will give you the name of mine (Denver metro, DTC area). Best Dr I've ever been to. If you let her know cash is tight she will work with that sourcing cheaper medication thru mail order.

Anyone having any skin cancer issues with HPS and LED lights?

I'm battling Carcinoma. Been over a year now. I'm more concerned with going from my front door to the car than I am about the grow room (did you know side car windows have no UV protection). But caution is always good. The chemo treatment melts away your skin and you're left with puss-ie looking...

Fine tuning my ebb and flow system questions.

Is there some reason for running the nutes at 25-33% recommended strength? I don't use that brand, but what I see on their website is per gallon = -veg 15ml & 7.5ml and -grow 15ml & 15ml. So are you running 25-33% of those recommendations? I use Dutch Master Advance nutes because they've been...

Fine tuning my ebb and flow system questions.

Experience. Always a good thing in a complex hobby. What week of the grow cycle are you in? You say you're running 50watts/ft2. So, for your area that is ~ 250 HPS, is that correct? What temp does your reservoir sit at? What nutes and schedule you running (any signs of the fan leaf ends turning...

How often do you have to change your water in your res?

Try this for link for some video and links to both the float valve installation and auto-shutoff: https://www.google.com/?ion=1&espv=2#q=Installing+float+valve+in+storage+tank+for+RO+water But for the auto-shutoff install I would check the site where you got your RO and they will most likely...

How often do you have to change your water in your res?

If you can source a 40-50 gallon storage tank that would be a good thing. I have a 50gal one (I also use it for a couple of salt water reef tanks, and I use an Italian steam cleaning device instead of household cleaning chemicals). For MAJOR simplicity and convenience install a float shutoff...

    Recommended dwc nutes?

I have switched to ebb & flow but used Dutch Master's full line with good success when doing DWC. Acquaintances have had good luck with H&G. I thought the following was a good read for DWC: https://www.rollitup.org/t/dwc-root-slime-cure-aka-how-to-breed-beneficial-microbes.361430/

Which? Used 357 Magnum Plus orNew Blackstar 500v

This would be for a 3x4 scrog area, 2 plants. I would also supplement w/ a 175w vented HPS/MH I have. Either way, I'd probably add a couple of all red Dorm Grow 80w UFOs at flowering. These will be in Waterfarms w/ a circulating reservoir. Plan to use Nova Bloom nutrient. Thanks in advance for...

    Undercurrent CCH20 DIY (Current Culture)

Thanks very much for the reply. I was misleading in saying 4'x6'. That would be my actual plant area. Auxiliary stuff included I have about a 4'x10' area but height is limited in part of it (it is under a staircase). My little 3 bucket DWC worked great but controlling ph and topping off was a...

    Undercurrent CCH20 DIY (Current Culture)

What is so special about these Under Currents? All I've done in the past is DWC and want to try RDWC (for solution stability and a reasonable way to auto-topoff if I'm out of town for a few days). I've done a lot with marine reef tanks in the past so I know about oxygenation, heat from pumps...

    Molasses in a dwc system.

I tried it and had disastrous results. I will not try again.

Ozoning water? Should I be doing this?

I wouldn't. Seems counter productive. Just use filtered water, like an inexpensive RO filter. Ozone is very powerful and could really screw some stuff up, including yourself. If you wanted to get all nerdy, you could use it to purify your supply water if you had something to keep the the ozone...
