When do Seeds form? Hermaphrodite plants

Hello all, My girls are in flush right now. I have a really great looking crop of Chem Dog's and a small, less attractive looking crop of Dutch Dragons. I just noticed the Dutch Dragons have seeds popping off the tops. I'm guessing they are hermaphrodite genetics b/c they were grown from...

Plant Moisture Stress - Symptoms and Solutions

It's not really meant to be used as a complete fertilizer, just for introducing beneficial microbes. Use it in place of regular feeding schedule once or twice in late veg/pre-flower times to boost the root system. I may start a grow journal for my next cycle and track the results more closely...

Question on SCROG placement and how often to top the plants

Right on, for that, you should buy a trellis net, I would think.

Question on SCROG placement and how often to top the plants

I'm not sure what SCROG stands for but if you're talking about topping, and using a trullis(?spelling?) then chicken wire is too small for what you're doing. There are lots of ways to train a plant to bush out. "Topping" splits the apex branch in a way that two apex branches will grow off...

Plant Moisture Stress - Symptoms and Solutions

I used a mix of Roots Organic Soil http://aurorainnovations.com/soil.html And yes the first two ingredients are Coco Fiber and Peat Moss. I cut each bag with about 1/3 bag of Light Warrior http://www.foxfarmfertilizer.com/products_soils3.html What sort of "buffer," I'll go over this again...

Plant Moisture Stress - Symptoms and Solutions

I'll work on getting some better pictures. http://www.a1b2c3.com/drugs/mjgrow9f.htm "Adjusting pH Of Marijuana Grown In Soil A good way to stabilize soil is to use dolomite lime (calcium-magnesium carbonate). Dolomitic lime acts slowly and continuously, so soil will remain pH stable for a few...

Plant Moisture Stress - Symptoms and Solutions

LOL, I have seen a few in my lifetime and even some in my neighborhood but people do use a ton of water to have them. The soil probe tells me different, 7.5ish. I suppose it could be highly in-accurate but not likely to be THAT inaccurate. And it's my understanding that lime "buffers" pH so...

Plant Moisture Stress - Symptoms and Solutions

Thanks for the advice, even if it was a little harsh... and even though you really didnt' answer my question but instead took the time to make me feel like another "doomed" amateur. My plants have been improving since I added the lime. Could be a result of the foliar. I feel like I have a...

    Question regarding pH balance

I did add lime to all of them. The soil probe still reads high. I was really curious about the h20 IN-h2o OUT pH difference

    Question regarding pH balance

I recently flushed my plants & added garden lime to the soil. I had measured the soil pH with a ph probe and saw it was too high, 7.5. So I did the flush & added lime with water ph'd to 6.4. When I measured the runoff it was way lower than the water I put in, 5.5 WTF?? Any ideas?

Plant Moisture Stress - Symptoms and Solutions

UB! Just read through the post, Love it, lots of great examples and info. I wanted to throw my situation into the mix and see what you thought. I've got these plants they've been in 7gal pots for almost 3 weeks now. The new growth I was noticing on the plants was coming out wrinkled and...

My 3 girls w/ PICS - help diagnose problem please

give them bloom nutes after they've shown you they're in full bloom. Pre-flowering is a good time to do a "transition" mix. Usually the nutrient company gives a feeding schedule that includes a "Transition" stage. Don't be afraid to load them up either. Plants like that outside in full sun...

Ouch! Hot Soil! What should I do?

Okay so I checked many of them again today with the soil probe and they seem to be averaging around 7.0. It's hard to get an accurate read w/ the probe but they're definitely down since I last watered. I think i'm going to stick to my regular feed/water schedule. No flushing and no Lime...

Possible problem with plants. PICS. Please help

i'm having a similar issue and mine centers around soil pH. see this thread: https://www.rollitup.org/marijuana-plant-problems/229098-ouch-hot-soil-what-should.html get a $10ph probe and stick it in your soil and see if it's too high (7.0+) or too low (-5.9) poorly balanced pH disturbs the...

My 3 girls w/ PICS - help diagnose problem please

i agree, mine do the same thing, droopy when dry. Rain could be weighing them down too. Do you water them on your own or do they just get natural rain? They look like they could use some fertilizing too, could be a bit darker green w/ some extra NPK. I'm pretty new to this too though. They...

Ouch! Hot Soil! What should I do?

growone, yes i've been measuring my runoff and it's a little high. has gone down some since my last feed but still high the soil is put out by "roots organics" and definitely marketed to mj growers. It's loaded with all sorts of amendments and friends have had great things to say about it. I...

Flush, Feed, or Lime:Take the Poll

I have a dilemma. My plants are putting off sickly spindly seemingly micro-nute deficient growth. They've been transplanted in from small containers to large 7gal pots for about 3 weeks now. Once transplanted they were watered w/ straight ph'd water. Week 1: I gave them a brew of bokashi...

Ouch! Hot Soil! What should I do?

The guy at my garden store just sold me on a $5 box of dolomite garden lime. I asked "Isn't that designed to bring the soil pH up?" and he said it would bring it up or down, just neutralize it. He said it'll kill off any of the bokashi I watered in though, which I can deal with, just brew...
