I got free 18gal totes as well and then used (3) 6" net pots. Its my first grow so I am no expert but currently my plants are about 30" big 1 week into flowering and the roots are filling up the totes. I would think that this is one of those things that given the room to grow they will use it.

Home Depot, menards etc... They come with a round metal reflector that I had to remove to fit the socket splitter and two bulbs.

I don't think its water as it feels greasy. I tried to take a picture but you cant see it. Its really just a liquid on random leaves about the size of a dime.

I found this cord set http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10175810 at IKEA for 3.99, I am thinking about dropping a couple of these down the sides of the plants with some more 27watt or smaller 2700k bulb just to be sure.

Do you think it would be worth it to put two tubes along the top of my rubbermaid, to reach the inside of the canopy? Two of my leaves touched the 42 watt bulbs for a couple hours and started to burn so I am worried that since the plants are taking up a lot of room, if I put lights on the side...

I was thinking about adding two more 27 watt 2700k bulbs cause I already have them, Ill just need another fixture. The other thing to mention is that normally there is a sheet of foil over the top and around the sides that I removed for pictures so more light is being reflected back in.
