I did look at HPS a while back but I was concerned about energy consumption and the heat output from the thing, I am going to be out of the house more than normal and I would be worried about it going on fire. I think the 'high pressure' part of it is scaring me :) Im not in it to make money...

Just the one, do you think it needs more for just one plant? Its got a 125w cfl on it at the moment about 3 inches or so away from it. This is a total experiment I didn't expect it to even flower to be honest if this is sucessful I am going to do a proper grow and get some more equipment.

I dont even know what type it is either its a seed just out of a baggie. It smells great though so we have high hopes x

Whoa! Nice! Mine is crappy in comparison I have been flowering for just under three weeks and mines only half that size! Do they really shoot up towards the end of flowering?? I think the plant food I have used is a load of shit.

Total noob here its been on 12 on 12 off for about 3 weeks. How much longer until I need to buy a little jewel magnifier and start looking for the little thigs to go amber. Im thinking its a while yet? Does it look healthy? Its only under a cfl bulb. Thanks for looking.

Thanks for quick reply, I am only growing in a small cupboard and wanted to get it flowering quicker. I thought these might be better than cfls even though they are low wattage. Cheers anyhow :)

Do you need a ballast for these bulbs? Or can you just put them into a lamp, im not hot on the subject of these lights as I have mostly used cfls. I am aware that a ballast is required to run the high wattage ones ie 400w and such, but could I get away with using these in a normal light...
