Stop what you are doing, and look at this.... DROP YOUR LIGHTS A FOOT!

Yeah, but lemme ask you this: Just because the sun's rays carry it, does it mean its a good thing? You need UV to make Vit D in your skin, but what happens when you get too much? Over time, cancer, UV knocks out DNA, likewise if you are growing under full radiation you are exposing your plants...

Stop what you are doing, and look at this.... DROP YOUR LIGHTS A FOOT!

From WikiPedia HUMAN EYE.... From WikiPedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Eyesensitivity.png basically if you look at it, LUMENS which are based on our vision, are useless, because our vision is based on green. So lumens as a measurement of light output for a lamp is just silly, plants...

Stop what you are doing, and look at this.... DROP YOUR LIGHTS A FOOT!

HEATSTOPPER! No dude, that little disc in the picture just below the blub, THAT DISC BLOCKS HEAT SO WELL I DROPPED MY 1000MH to barely 7-8 INCHES! over my girls without burning, wilting, NO DAMAGE TO THE PLANTS! This thing is called the Heatstopper and OMG. If you guys get a chance to, look at...

Stop what you are doing, and look at this.... DROP YOUR LIGHTS A FOOT!

Saw an in-store demo of this thing a few days ago, was a little pricey, but I couldn't believe how well it worked. I saved a few bucks and managed to get one for myself and take it home. I took it home and immediately threw it in my garden, and I have barely been able to leave. THIS THING IS...

    Heatstopper?

Nice rack, and the term is cannabis :) lol i checked out their website, the same guys had another demo at a different shop in the area and I went and checked it out. this thing looks looks like just a space-age piece of glass, simple mounting bracket, blahblah. but it actually worked. This was...

    Heatstopper?

has anyone heard of this Heatstopper? there was an in-store demo today at one of the local shops, this little disc seemed to actually work! Price is a little steep its gonna be a little while before i get it, but it made the heat spreader look like absolute crap. Anyone try this thing? i...

Bulb Won't Start (HPS 600 on Magnetic)

Ended up going through the wiring and comparing it to a single 600 I had. The Markings on the transformer are sparse and should only be used as a rough wiring guide, not an exact explanation of every wire in there (really aggravating). However, something in the way I was told to wire it didn't...

Bulb Won't Start (HPS 600 on Magnetic)

I have a dual 600 (2 x 600 hps at one time) magnetic. (Sun Systems Gro Pro Dual 600) After moving the ballast, it stopped working, hummed, but nothing happened with the bulbs. After replacing the ignitor, the bulbs now try to start ( you can see the spark across the entire sodium element like...

Can't afford co2 system...should I use Dry ice or sugar water and yeast?

Don't waste your money on anything from the hydro store for CO2, unless its a regulator and controller. CO2 pays for itsself on a first run. (even on the scale of a 400w light. My last 400w yield was 203 grams. Take a 30% increase there to 260-280grams. A 60 gram increase is prolly about...

Hypobaric Grow Chamber (High Altitude Simulation)?

I'm no amateur, I was just looking to see if anyone had an idea of how to create a hypobaric area, about 7x9 or so. I would love to build it as modular units and have 3 or 4 replacing a large room setup. I guess I need to just research air-locks and negative-pressure rooms, but the information...

Hypobaric Grow Chamber (High Altitude Simulation)?

Actually I do use UVB (20mins x 3/day for Bloom, 10.0 lamps, one for each 1k bulb) already, but it seems to me like a lot of strains have protiens that work differently at high alts. The amount of tricomb prod with the UVB light is insane, but I have come to find, not the entire story. Something...

    Electrical question

Normally, you shouldn't run bulbs and ballasts unless they are matched, but I know from experience you can run 430/400 watt bulbs pretty interchangeably but that's a difference of less than 10% (30/430w = 6.9% or 30/400w = 7.5%) whereas you are doing (40/320 = 12.38% or 40/360 = 11.11%)...

    lighting question :D

You are vegin, you want colder color temps, like 6400k, those simulate daylight the best (other than if you can get Metal Halide lamps) and will kick veg stage off much better

Hypobaric Grow Chamber (High Altitude Simulation)?

The idea of high-altitude kush has always fascinated me, seems that some results just can't be replicated at low altitude. Given I can't exactly find anywhere high altitude to move to, I figured why not bring the mountains to my garage. So I am trying to figure out how to build a hypobaric...

Spider Mites & CO2, no success?

That's kind of sad to hear, I was hoping someone else had tried it and had some input for it, otherwise its kinda dissapointing sitting there in the room, needing a respirator while these bugs just go on like nothing's going on around them.

    my 8-10k watt kush grow

I never got more than a littler under 2lb/light with open air fixtures, had to switch to enclosed & vented hoods to push it past. Most people do shit a brick when you tell them, "yeah I expect 1.5lb/1000w as a min and avg is 2lb", but its possible with genetics and recipe, sounds like you got...

    my 8-10k watt kush grow

Just curious, what is your lb/kwatt lighting ratio, eg what do you expect per 1000w of lighting?

Spider Mites & CO2, no success?

So, a bad spidermite problem in my bloom room (2 X 1000 + 2 x 600, 10' x 14'). Decided to try the CO2 method. Did all the prep work in order to maintain maximum seal. My CO2 controller goes to 20000(need to change settings, but it will do it), so I set that, ran a 20# bottle to 15scfm for 1...

c02 tank, regulator, needle valve, bubble counter

Most of our regulators work on SCFM, so if you can give me a measurement I can convert to that, I can help you, as would most people I think who are too lazy too tell you that.

How to get a bigger yield.

Do you use CFL? Do you understand anything about light penetration? Quick refresher would show us why top growers will strip a lot off the bottoms of plants to get optimum growth without the popcorn that forms closer to the bottoms.
