hey guys, just got my seeds today, just wondering, cause im in australia, summer hasnt hit yet, can i use this light just to VEg/ build a root system?

You are vegin, you want colder color temps, like 6400k, those simulate daylight the best (other than if you can get Metal Halide lamps) and will kick veg stage off much better

Sure it will grow. Thats what it is programmed to do. Whether or not that light will produce quality/quantity bud? Maybe, I would rather pay an extra couple of bucks to buy my light at the store just so you can see what you are working with and not waste your time. Buy a couple of good CFLs and a couple desk lamps.

the lights you are looking at have the wrong kelvin. You need lights with 6500k. just buy some t5 or t8's and they will veg your plants just fine till your summer is there.

It is called HALOLINE - whilst the blurb doesn´t say, that suggests it is a HALOGEN bulb. Totally wrong for growing, DO NOT buy it.

I agree. you need 6K lumens per sq foot. plus that light has 2K hours lifetime. CFL is what you need 6500K kelvin degree temp.

Conventional wisdom is MH for vegging, HPS for flowering. Incandescent lamps (which this is) are not recommended. But there is always someone who knows better.
