Im convinced that fluorescents are the way to go if you want your nodes close together, not to mention the savings on your electric bill.. I use a combo 0f 6500k and 7500k and I am having excellent results ! I use a 400w mh and a 400w hps to flower 8 plants.

The best, and this is from experience, are fluorescent tubes with a 6500k to 7500k color spectrum. Why ?? It grows your nodes close together which will result in fatter buds after your hps/mh lights strectch your plant during flower......no need for using all that electricity during veg...
