    Spider Mites! Help!

Hello all! Just thought I would give you all an update on my spider mite problem. I'm happy to say they are all gone!! My method took a few weeks but that is because I refuse to use anything that isn't organic. So here is what I did: First I kept a fan blowing up from the ground so that the...

Yes, I've been keeping the plants short because I too have read that LEDs have trouble penetrating the canopy. Having kept them short I'm very pleased with the results. I'm running a similar set up as you are planning, two tiers, a harvest every 4 weeks. I hope this was helpful, let me know...

I'm a few days away from my first LED grown harvest. I have two 90 watt UFO's covering a 3' x 3' x 6' area housing six plants. The characteristics of this grow is exactly syncing up with what I have read about LED grows. There is a SLIGHT reduction in over all yield but my buds have never...

    Spider Mites! Help!

My only guess would be maybe you're over watering the clones. Misting a few times a day on top of you're regular watering schedule might be too much. Just a thought... Oh, and congratulations on your bountiful harvest! I'm a few days away from a harvest as well :D

I love them. I'm running two 90 watt UFO triband LED grow lights on 6 plants in a grow chamber measuring 3' X 3" X 6.3'. This will be my first harvest using exclusively LEDs. I'm about 2-3 weeks from harvest and at this point I see no difference in yield. I prefer them because they don't...

    Spider Mites! Help!

Thanks for the tips. I've already been removing damaged/heavily infested leaves and spraying the rest with the water/alcohol mixture. I've been checking each plant daily, sometimes even twice daily. To help keep the humidity high in the flowering chamber I've been misting the plants heavily...

    Spider Mites! Help!

First and foremost, thank all of you for your helpful suggestions. I used the pyrethrum on my clones hoping whatever chemical residue there may be would be gone by the time they are full grown. I then used the alcohol/water mix on the vegging plants. And finally in the flowering chamber, I...

So when/how long is it safe to use pyrethrum on veg/flowering plants?

    Organic pest control?

Yes actually. I picked up some pyrethrum the first day I noticed the little buggers and tried it out on one plant just to make sure it wouldn't harm it. It seems to be working without any ill effects. So let's just hope it works on all of them! Do you know if I'm able to use it up until...

    Spider Mites! Help!

I'm sad to say the little buggers have found there way into both the veg/cloning and flowering chambers. I've had to get rid of one plant in each chamber, so one flowering and one vegging. Three of my flowering plants are about 4 weeks in but have only a few mites that i can see. No webs...

    Spider Mites! Help!

By "no pest strip" do you mean the sticky tape type devices that some places have hanging from the ceiling? Where did you put yours? Did you accent the no pest strip with anything else? I'm asking because I have my first case of spider mites and have already lost two girls myself. So I guess...

Right on. Yeah, once this crop is done I'll give a full report on here, but so far I'm very happy with my LED.

I was running one 400w HPS. And I only added the second UFO a few days ago so essentially one UFO was doing the work of a 400w HID at only 80% of the power consumption. If you're thinking about switching over, make sure you get a TriBand or QuadBand so you still get a good spectrum of light.

<====New to site: So I recently switched over to two 90W LED UFOs and am well into my third week of flowering. So far they seem to be working just as well as my old HPS. I've already seen a reduction in my electricity bill and I no longer worry about the temperature in the grow room. Unless...

Brown/yellow tips of fan leaves - should I cut them off?

As soon as they do fall off, clean it up! You can cut up to 50% of the blades off without ill effect. The problem with dead/dying leaves is it attracts pests so keep your garden clean at all times. If the leaf has been on the plant for several months, it may just be old. If that's the case...
