what I do is harvest the top portion on a plant like this and let the underneath flower 2 extra weeks for each later I take. It allows the underneath to swell and flower to larger buds, just requires more patience

My avg sized plant with a 600 hps is 8 ounces dried cured and usable. These stand 27-36 inches tall. I'm working on a unicorn currently that should push 20 plus.

From personal experimentation LED is ok if your growing in a very confined space and your worried about heat issues. However LED will take longer flowering cycle and longer veg cycle as well. In the long run it will produce good smoke in a smaller quantity. HPS will yield much denser buds but...
