I experienced the same problem with molasses in a DWC, almost lost my plants 4 weeks into flowering. Had to flush several times and added Cannazyme to counter the effects...

Actually I didnt...it started out as a SCROG grow, but then it started getting hard to change the nutrients...so I removed the screen, by then the plants were trained.

That sounds pretty good..i paid somewhere between 150-175 usd for mine. I went with Canna Nutrients for my first grow...

Actually, I pieced everything together...I vegged with CFL's and T12 flouro's...then replaced the T12's with a 150watt HPS for flowering.

Thinking about upgrading to 250watts, then maybe adding an additional 250watts for a more even coverage...i need a bigger grow space.

Your plants seem to be vegging fine with the lights you have. I vegged mine with cfl's, then added a HPS for the flowering stage 12/12. Im using only one 5 gallon DWC so I purchase a small 150watt HPS. Im 4 weeks into flowering and looking good.

CFL's are definitely better than tubes...they're just awkward to mount. Check the lumen output/watt ratio. Just one 150watt hps puts out 16,000 lumens ($89.99). Ive heard at least 10,000+ lumens per sqr ft.. So I supplement my HPS with CFL's. Its perfect for 1-2 plants.

Well it depends....I used (2)CFLs 68watts 4200 Lumens each, (2) 24" fluoro grow lights from walmart 75watts 1093 lumens each, and (2) t12 20watts 1300 lumens each. Yeah...i didnt hit me til it was time to do it. I was thinking of putting a drain on my buckets and top feeding the nutrient solution, but I also use molasses and it leaves the buckets kinda nasty so I need to clean every now and then.

I started the same way. I kept adding lights ended up with 4 24" floros and 2 large cfl's. I have 2 plants in a 5gallon DWC and they veg'd fine with those lights. Then I up-grade to a 150w hps with 2 cfls...getting decent results, 3 1/2 weeks flowering
