    Fan Controller Question

Feel free to PM me any programming questions, but I've never used an Arduino so I can only answer general questions or point you in the right direction. I've used a few different atMegas, which is the line of chips they use in Arduinos, but Arduinos have a lot of pre-written code that I've never...

    Fan Controller Question

No problem. If you need help with the programming the people at the arduino forums are very helpful. They've probably even done most of the coding already (for temp sensor and buttons), so you'll just need to write a few lines to tie it all together. Looks good, but I like my electronics a...

    Fan Controller Question

I wish I could get rid of that hum too. Do you think you could find out how the more expensive controllers work? Connecting the controller and an Arduino won't be too hard. Since the controller might be using 24v or higher you'll need some relays or transistors to protect the Arudino...

    Fan Controller Question

Wow, that's pretty cheap. I paid $20 for my analog speed controller. I found the PCB of your controller (ABR-V004) on a lot of Chinese websites. It looks like it's a generic PCB that different companies put in different cases. I wish I could find someone who'd ship to the US, even just the bare...

    Fan Controller Question

I have no idea, but do you remember how much it cost? I've been looking for a cheap digital fan speed controller. I've though about making one with an AVR, a zero-crossing detector circuit, and a standard triac AC dimmer circuit, but I haven't had the time.

    Low Profile Pots?

Sharing a reservoir isn't a bad idea, people do it all the time with ebb-and-flow setups (I don't think I've seen an E&F grow that didn't share a reservoir). As long as you know none of the plants are males it's not too bad. You could also put a piece of plastic (you can buy hard plastic sheets...

    Cutting early

I don't think they would suck up any of the water until roots form... but even if they did, would you want to smoke koolaid?

    Cutting early

I don't think I'd use koolaid, it probably has a lot of salts that would throw off your NPK ratio and burn the plant onces roots form. There are probably purified or artificial flavorings that would be safe to use, if you try it you should make a thread.

    Cutting early

Most of it is already curing, a couple branches are drying, and I'm going to leave a couple more in the jar of water for a couple more days. I've smoked some and it's pretty good, but they got too close to the light and the buds are really loose. This time I used a little clone box to veg them...

    Cutting early

Well, I cut them about a week ago and put a few branches in a jar of water. They kept maturing, bulked up a little (wasn't expecting this), and even started growing roots. Once I saw roots I replaced the water with some nutrients, but given how tiny the roots are I don't think it made any...

    Seeds and Tents Vs Cabinets

A $20 speed controller makes a HUGE difference. I have a 440CFM inline fan and at 80% speed the noise is cut by about half, and I almost never turn the speed up past 50-60%. If that's still too loud I've heard Panasonic's Whisper fans are incredibly quiet. OP, it's really not that hard to buy...

    Cutting early

Sounds like it's worth a shot. Seems like the worst that could happen is the branch starts to get moldy and I have to cuts the buds off before drying them so the mold doesn't spread.

Smoking too much weed makes me 'resin sick'

I'm kind of like that, I've got IBS and when I don't smoke in the morning I have to keep taking small shits. If I smoke, I just have to go once and I'm done. I think I get that "resin sickness" that OP is talking about too, but mostly just the hot flashes. I'm going to have to try that.

    Cutting early

I have to move my plants tomorrow but they still need about a week before they're really ready to be harvested. They're under a screen and getting them out will be hard unless I just cut the branches. What should I do? Is there any way I can harvest them but keep ripening them? Edit: I should...

When does "X weeks to flower" start?

14-16 weeks? Seriously? At least I can harvest the indica soon. I broke off a little bud, dried it, and smoked it. It's a pretty nice high and smells a lot more like mangoes than I expected. Really looking forward to smoking it once it's cured.

When does "X weeks to flower" start?

Wet bud never looks ready to smoke to me... 3 clones, 2 phenos of Somango Widow from Advanced Seeds, they say it takes 55-60 days. One pheno is a nice dense indica and I'll probably cut it in a few days, but it's about half as tall as the other 2 plants with a lot less bud since the other 2...

To prove my point (not that I think I have to), here's the humidity in Jamaica today at 1 PM (because everyone knows they grow good weed in Jamaica): http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/hdfForecast?query=jamaica Kingston 82 °F 79% Montego Bay 82 °F 89% Morant Point...

    Help me please!!!

That plant looks very healthy to me. I usually keep the water level about 1/2-1 inch below the bottom of the pot, so most of the roots are under water. They also tend to grow around the airstones and trap a small amount of air.

When does "X weeks to flower" start?

When people say a strain takes 8 weeks to flower, does that start when you switch to 12/12 or when they start showing flowers? I switched my lights to 12/12 almost 9 weeks ago but they took almost 2 weeks to start flowering... Probably have about a week left, so I'm guessing the count starts...

High humidity 71 temp 66 of

71 isn't really that high compared to some parts of the world, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just keep some room between them while they're hanging, and some ventilation wont hurt either.
