Cutting early

I have to move my plants tomorrow but they still need about a week before they're really ready to be harvested. They're under a screen and getting them out will be hard unless I just cut the branches. What should I do? Is there any way I can harvest them but keep ripening them?

Edit: I should probably mention I'm a MM patient and prefer high CBD levels.

If it were me I would try to cure them as long as possible, keep air flow but not a whole lot. Try a nug after it's all dried if it's not very good try using it for edibles.

if you must chop them down early...then you could try a technique that has been talked about by member on RIU

He cuts off each branch then places the stems in a vase of water (just like roses) which allows the plant to continue developing.

I have never tried this method (most have not) but in your situation it may be viable.

cheers

Sounds like it's worth a shot. Seems like the worst that could happen is the branch starts to get moldy and I have to cuts the buds off before drying them so the mold doesn't spread.

Think the water would need to be phd. No need for the roots to be able to take up this and that.

Well, I cut them about a week ago and put a few branches in a jar of water. They kept maturing, bulked up a little (wasn't expecting this), and even started growing roots. Once I saw roots I replaced the water with some nutrients, but given how tiny the roots are I don't think it made any difference. Overall, I'd consider it a success.

Most of it is already curing, a couple branches are drying, and I'm going to leave a couple more in the jar of water for a couple more days. I've smoked some and it's pretty good, but they got too close to the light and the buds are really loose. This time I used a little clone box to veg them and they're already on a 12/12 schedule so they shouldn't get too big.

Im fully ganna try this once my top buds are ready and leave the rest to mature more. Has anyone ever added a flavouring to the water in the vase

2 weeks and grape cool aid here I come. Very interested in this flavoring idea.

I would have thort a more natural flavour would be safer wouldnt it such as apple juice or grape juice and also how would it even add flavour to it

I was thinking grape juice as well, but seeing you can drink cool aid I figure it'd be ok. It more then likely won't add any flavor IMO but I like experiments big small stupid ground breaking what ever sounds interesting.

Fair enuf. I dont have enough bud on my current grow to realy do any experiments but im wondering if itll need diluting or if straight grape juice the day you dry would work

I don't think I'd use koolaid, it probably has a lot of salts that would throw off your NPK ratio and burn the plant onces roots form. There are probably purified or artificial flavorings that would be safe to use, if you try it you should make a thread.

I dont think his intent is too grow roots man. From what he said i gathered he is basicaly sitting the chopped piece into a flavouring and letting it suck up the flavoured water as its last ditch attempt to survive and then pull it out of the flavoured water and dry to lock in the flavour

I have heard of using candy flavoring (found in baking supplies) for flavoring, there use to be something on youtube about it. Personally I have never tried it, but it does sound interesting.

I don't think they would suck up any of the water until roots form... but even if they did, would you want to smoke koolaid?
