im hoping its only about a week and a half left....
i really want to blaze some of this baby, im gona cut off a tiny popcorn bud today and dry it so i can have a sample and hopefully stop me from cutting her early :)

i will post a new set of pics later today so every1 can see their progress, and at the same time ill take another look at the scope, im hoping to see more ambers so i know that the ones that are cloudy are at 'peak cloudiniess', for lack of a better term

ill keep ya'll updated so please check back and help a brother out!

yea u better get the little popcorn bud in ya:twisted::mrgreen:before you chop'm too soon.i would let them go at least a week maybe week and a half before considering to chop.maybe take the top colas and let the lower finish up as the top will be done first most likely.but w/e you DONT quick dry them let them dry at least 5-7 days before sampling or curing the stems should snap not bend whatsoever or they are not ready.trust me the wait will be worth itbongsmilie

cheers toke

just cut a lil popcorn bud (about the size of a coke bottle lid) and am going to use some method of quick drying, probably in an envolope in my hot car for the rest of the day... then i will blazeee :) im not worried about the tast/potency really i just need a smoke to keep me patient....

i am DEFINETLY not going in any way rush the flowering/drying/curing stages of this little baby, its been so long since i dropped these seeds into the soil, and so much caring i really am gona get the most out of it!

i think i will be following fdd's method of drying and curing which he kindly posted up, as being a noob i have no experience and he sets it out step by step very nicely, but nonetheless i will be obsevering this weed very closely from stem to my lungs :joint::joint::joint:

here are the promised updated pics too

UPDATEEEEEEEEE

just thought id take a peak under the scope to see how shes goingin the trich department, and i was shocked to see many more amber trichs then i did 3 days ago, on the top colas there are atleast 50% amber to cloudy, and lower down is more like 20% or so

i didnt think the buds looked ready either as many of you thought about 1 or so weeks left too, bud by the looks of the trichs i would be wanting to harvest NOW.

im not sure what to do, check the pics above and let me know wat you think, but do the trichs lie????

i know!

but seeing the trichs is making me think other wise

although, of the 50% amber trichs on the top colas, the trichs that are amber, seem to be the smaller ones and most of the tall (capitate-stalked) trichs remain a deep cloudy colour. i read a article in the growfaq that said to go by the capitate -stalked trichs as they contain the most thc and thcv.

im really confused about wat to do with this plant and if i should cut her, because i am looking for a head high rather that couch lock, but i dont wana cut her prematurely,

but these ambers are staring me in the eyes under the scope!

wat to do!!!!

If you really wanted to you could harvest now..but i would at least give them a week.are you checking bud leafs or the fan leaves?but i would wait until the lower buds have 50-60% amber trichomes then harvest the whole plant.bongsmilie

i am checkin the bud leafs, i have checked them at the tops colas, and also about halfway down the buds (as you can see it is a wierd shaped plant from begining pics)

this is an outdoor plant, and has recieved some less than ideal direct sunlight hours over the past few weeks, this may have caused them to be fluffy...?

i dont really want to wait untill the bud leafs further down has 50% amber, as by then the tops will be completely amber i believe, and i am not looking for couch lock

i think i might try and take some photos through my microscope if its possible, so i can show everyone wat i am seeing

any other opinions on the state of my bud?

cheers for replies

Dont outdoors plants go amber faster? If you chop than know I can already tell the buds will be super fluffy. I really think they need atleast a week looking at those last pictures.

With my outdoor plants I never checked the trich's I just chopped when they looked "ready". By ready I mean they had a nice orangeish tint and about 85% of the hairs had died and turned orange to brown.

The smoke was A+

well before you jump the gun let me explain something.yes i understand what high you want but it would take more then a weeks of growth to push out the couch lock high.i think what you havent been told is that its ok to have amber trichs even alot of them you just dont want to let them get past there peak potency.you wont get any couch lock unless you were to let 90% of the whole plants trichomes go amber because thats when they pop and then slowly the thc degrades and leaves you with CBD's or couchlock.if you let the bottom buds catch up to the maturity level that the tops are now then you will have a much better yield and also will probably hit them at peak potency.outdoors are a little different as "nowstop" was saying and they do turn faster which is why new growers have a little more trouble judging potency.sometimes you get bud that will give you couch lock even if you chop them early enough it all depends on genetics of the plant but in general i would let your buds another week MINIMUM. i would wait till next monday then harvest for prime potency.also a good cure to finish it off:mrgreen::blsmoke::joint:

cheers nowstop and toke for advice

i am going to let her go atleast another week, as you guys have said she just dont look ready yet, and as fdd said in another thread there are still fresh white pistils coming out so the plant is still growing.

should i give her another hit of nutes and mollasses today? one last hit then flush for a weekish? or would that be too late?? she hjasnt had a feed in a while....

You could feed her if you think she needs it, and then flush in a day or two. Then harvest in a week or so. :peace::blsmoke:
