1/4 hp ecoplus water chiller user out there

Need an answer about an ecoplus 1/4 hp chiller. How low can I expect the water to get? Need to figure out if the chiller is just to small or in need of new freon / servicing.

Had the chiller for 2 years and ran it at 72 degrees with no problems chilling a rez. What I want to do now is use the chiller and 2 ice box's to help control a hot room.

Started out with 72 degree water set the chiller at 55 and the best I could do is get it down to 65 after 12 hours of non-stop operation. Was not trying to chill anything other than the water for the chiller during this time. Is that good it doesn't seem like it to me?

The chiller sits in a room by the 30 gallon chiller barrel. Average room temp is 78-85 degrees. Chiller sits by a window that the cooler air is drawn by the chiller and all of the air is drawn out the room and is vented out the attic. So I have decent air flow by the chiller night time air is 65-70 right now. I have the proper sized pump, new pump actually. no blockage in the water lines, no issues I can come up with that this wont get the water cold other than at this point it wont do what I think it can or should be able to do.

Obviously a bigger chiller would fix all but that isn't possible.
I need it to get down to and hold 60 degree water temp at some point during the day and not be running non-stop 24-7. Is this chiller capable of doing that? Or is it just too small and it will never get it down to anything below 70 degrees?????

My chiller barrel isn't insulated but will be soon. Even though it isn't insulated right now I still think the water should be able to get it cooler than 65 after 12 hours of operation even with the cool loss though the barrel.

How far off base am I? How cold do chillers get the water??

I tried to talk to a lady at sunlight supply I think she said these chillers only cool down to 20-30 degrees below ambient room temp.

Can anyone with the experience with these confirm that? If that is the case then everything is working fine and its just too hot and my chiller doesn't need service.

The one you have, new, can drop the temp of 100gal of water 30F from ambient.....BUT,,,,,you must keep in mind the time involved to do that....If you have an ambient water temp of 90F and you set it for 60F. It will take 10hrs to reach that 60F.

Have you checked the air filter?

Air temp of 78 to 85 eh. The higher the air temp the less efficient the chiller will work! You are told to not use the chiller at 90F and above.....optimum operation is in a room under 80F....

I suspect you should have it looked at by a tech..

I'm not getting how this is helping your room temps......Not a good idea to do that.....You will be by far, more effective if you break down and get an AC unit that will run less and cost less in electrical...

I use these to chill Co2 generators.....

Yeah the filter is clean

I came to the conclusion that the chiller is to small and my area was way too hot. Did some fancy dancing and moved some things around and now have it 10 degrees cooler across the board so I am good for the moment will get the chiller serviced to make sure it is up to the job when I have a better opportunity to do that.
