Look.

If we even let Trump run for POTUS in 2024, ALL OF THIS was for nothing. All these "hearings". For NOTHING.

And he will. And it's going to be. ..all for nothing. Because if there's ONE thing American politicians do consistently, is "talk the talk" but never "walk the walk".

Who said he will be allowed to?

The whole theme of last night is that he lost and all those around him knew; he knew = no stop the steal..savvy?

THERE NEVER WAS A STEAL; IT WAS MADE UP TO GRIFT HIS SUPPORTERS.

Yeah i know that. I always knew there wasn't a "steal". Ultimately ANY person impeached from ANY position should not be able to reapply for or campaign for that position again.

He'll run. Mark my words.

Thank you for your contribution; I'm very happy you're here to talk about and give your opinion. All opinions are welcome.

I'm happy that you always knew that there wasn't a steal but what about your friends? And did they still send him money under false pretenses?..that's wire fraud.

We did impeach him twice but the final step to stop him was disregarded by Republican Senators keeping the door open.

As far as running again? This thread is about what he did that led up to and including the events of January 6th.

The failure to remove doesn't change that he's a two-time "peachmint". That should disqualify him from future runnings automatically. But it won't.

I tend to agree, but I do take solace in this new version of republicans going balls to the wall and not leaving their voters any sort of wiggle room or ambiguity. I think republicans refusing to debate is a result, same with lots of their moderate members leaving. They did fill that hole with crackpots and lurch way over to crazy land, but I think as they go more extreme they become less relevant (short term its gonna be a shit show).

I think this hearing will help shake the tree and knock a few more apples off, there arent many left though. Just keep peeling voters away, if you get enough the election just becomes the choice of primary candidate. Maybe we can get people that talk about ideas, defend them, have the ability to implement them into office again. Probably not, but maybe.

That's not the way our country works. The House impeaches and The Senate disqualifies from future.

I'm not sure what you mean by the failure to remove.

End the filibuster.

President Trump oversaw a sophisticated seven-part plan to overturn the 2020 election and prevent the transition of presidential power.
  1. President Trump engaged in a massive effort to spread false and fraudulent information to the American public claiming the 2020 election was stolen from him.
  2. President Trump corruptly planned to replace the Acting Attorney General, so that the Department of Justice would support his fake election claims.
  3. President Trump corruptly pressured Vice President Pence to refuse to count certified electoral votes in violation of the US Constitution and the law.
  4. President Trump corruptly pressured state election officials, and state legislators, to change election results.
  5. President Trump's legal team and other Trump associates instructed Republicans in multiple states to create false electoral slates and transmit those slates to Congress and the National Archives.
  6. President Trump summoned and assembled a violent mob in Washington and directed them to march on the US Capitol.
  7. As the violence was underway, President Trump ignored multiple pleas for assistance and failed to take immediate action to stop the violence and instruct his supporters to leave the Capitol.
that's pretty much what i got from last night, as for the orange avenger running again, think after this....it would be a hard "NO", cause imo i think the DOJ is going to indict him...we'll see

I think “hearings” is a bit of a misnomer for this public phase. What it is is a carefully-produced presentation, a tour de force of counterpropaganda. I appreciate the consequent and transparent structure, especially when the edible says hello.

Needs a Democrat super majority, or for the Republicans to split. The Republicans aren't going to give up their ability to rule as a minority easily. Same with ditching the electoral college.

They need to get crazier and more extreme to push moderates and moderate areas out of their party, if you are able to pull enough of those people into your tent, your tent wins and you get to set the rules. The important stuff like policy differences and leadership styles are handled outside of the confines of the constitution.

I am good with a range of political choices and options, some shits a hard no though. This let's you prevent that stuff you are totally opposed to, as their party is too small to compete in the constitutional real election, while also picking among who you actually like rather than just going with who you think can beat the guy you despise.
