Thanks mate I wasnt sure what i wanted so i thought i'd try a couple! Im hearing loads of good things about pineapple express and its definatly on my list for my next grow when these are up and going!I'll check yours out nowSubbed
I got to, your growing pretty much all the strains I'm thinking about for my next grow. ALthough loving the pineapple express I got on the go.
Looking forward to seeing the end product of your grow!
yea it was me thanks for the advice i always have problems with my temps so i mite try them out on this growsmokey, was it u who asked about the cool tube?
They do keep ya temps down quite a lot, but there not very efficient reflectors. there are better air-cooled hoods but the cool tube is small and cheap. so it does the job but there are better.
hope this helps ya m8,
I dont think I could maintain my 21-22oC temps without it!
hi mate thanks for the advice i've been lookin around and i think i am going to buy 2 600w air-cooled hoods when i get abit further in maybe a week or so befor flowering i'm going to leave them another week in my vegging cupboard and then put them in my smaller tent with 1 400 watt hps to finish of the vegging stage then im goin to try the air cool hoods in the flowering tent what do you thinkI use a Super Sun II air-cooled hood and it's the shit. Kinda pricey, but well worth it for the reduction of heat, especially in the summer.
There are some good DIY cool tube threads floating around...a google search should yield some good selections.
The only real difference between the tube and the hood is the distribution of light (a hood is much better). But you should weigh that against your need to bring temps down...maybe you have to sacrifice a little light distribution to stay around a manageable temp. Or sacrifice a little cash on an air-cooled hood and get both.
I'm not sure exactly what you mean by 600w air-cooled hoods...most reflectors accept multiple size bulbs, up to 1000w. I was under the impression you will be using 2-400w hps for flower, so the 600w thing just confused me a little.hi mate thanks for the advice i've been lookin around and i think i am going to buy 2 600w air-cooled hoods when i get abit further in maybe a week or so befor flowering i'm going to leave them another week in my vegging cupboard and then put them in my smaller tent with 1 400 watt hps to finish of the vegging stage then im goin to try the air cool hoods in the flowering tent what do you think
yes i was going to but i thought if i was going to buy 2 new aircooled hoods i mite aswell upgrade to the 600watts hps and just use 1 400watt for the rest of my veggingI'm not sure exactly what you mean by 600w air-cooled hoods...most reflectors accept multiple size bulbs, up to 1000w. Either way, 2 hoods with a good fan will be great. You definitely want them in the flowering room. I don't see any problem with moving the plants from the cupboard to the tent to the flower room. Give them that good HID light for as much of their life as you can.
i didnt even no about a balanced spectrum hps bulbs but i will be looking into them now thanks for the advice +repNice! I just upgraded to 600w hps myself from 400w...pretty happy with it so far. 2 600's will be great. Maybe look into getting a MH conversion bulb for your 400w if you plan on vegging with it. Or a balanced spectrum hps bulb. A standard hps bulb would work for vegging too though.
I have tryed two, I use a sylvana growlux its better than my last one, I havent tryed a normal HPS yet to compare, but I probaly will soon. loli didnt even no about a balanced spectrum hps bulbs but i will be looking into them now thanks for the advice +rep
