Hi!
I'm on my way with my first grow. I was first going to grow white widow and white rhino in my closet. But due to some unforeseen expenses I decided to grow some autos on my balcony instead.

What i got.
strains:
5x Auto blueberry (lowlife)
5x Auto Lemon skunk (lowlife)

Grow system:
AutoPot: easy2grow
47l res
2x 2x8,5l pots (total of 4 pots)

Medium(s)
coco briks
perlite

Nutrients.
AN "expert" + bud blood and sensi zyme

Base:
sensi grow/bloom a+b

Root zone:
voodoo juice (ben bacteria)
Piranha (ben fungi)
sensi zyme (enzymes)

Bloom boosters:
bud blood
Big bud
overdrive

"other boosters"
Carboload
bud candy
B52
final phase
(I was lucky and got a good secondhand package deal on these, so i didn't pay full price ).

I'd just started to germinate my seeds, but i got some questions/worries i want to clear out before i plant my seedlings in my pots, sense my strains are known to be nutrient sensitive.

What should be the best setup fore my strains?
Q1.
Medium, i'v heard autos don't do well in soil less gardens, should i go with soil and perlite instead of coco?
(water in tank and hand water nuts)

Q2
Nutrient strength. I know i got some sensitive lades, so this is of course an aria of concern..
Autopot recommends ½ strength nut. solution, max EC of ~0,8 fore the tank. But ware do i start? I can think of a number of different "combos" in the nutrients department, what to have in the tank and what to hand water and at what strengths..

I'd suspected its a good idea to give my root zone enhancers threw the tank (and maybe a mild 1/4-1/6 base nutrient) and hand water the rest of the nuts and boosters?

I'm also going to split the pots in half so they can hold 2 plants each (know this isn't optimal but i believe 2 plants with 4l rootzone will yeald more than one with 8l..)

Eany thoughts and tips are more than welcome.. :peace:

Hello mate, wecome to the forum :-)

Im currently on my first grow, im growing lowlife auto flower ak-47's - got three on the go. They are a good seed bank, very solid genetics. Couple of tasty strains you've chosen there :eyesmoke:

So am I right in thinking the seeds are germinating now? Coz if they are that gives you about 24 hours to sort out your growing medium, pots and get everything ready. Im growing mine in 'canna terra pro' soil which I can heartily recommend, it has enough nutrients in it for the first couple of weeks (but not too much for your slightly delicate ladies), it is already mixed with perlite so drains well and is nice and airy. I wouldn't give them any other nutrients until they show sex and start to flower, then I can also recommend the nutrients I am using - BioBizz Bio-Bloom - this is organic and not too strong (so unlikely to harm your plants).

Enjoy your grow dude, hope it goes well :-)

Thanx M8! :)

Yes they germinating I'm around the 72h mark. They have been in paper-tissue fore about 48h, and the last 24 in yiffys in a mini greenhouse. When they have outgrown the greenhouse they will move out to the pots & balcony.. So I think got about a week to sort out my medium..

As for medium I'm thinking about 40/40/20 of perlite soil and coco, with 1" of perlite in the botom of the pot, so i won't get a to wet medium. The aoutpot-tray fills with 1" of water and refills when it's dry.

Hello m8 I have some Auto's in Autopots in Coco & Perlite (Lowryder 2) and they are doing really well.. If you take a look at my Journal I have noted all the feeding schedules from seed up until bloom so take a look.. I have 70% coco & 30% perlite in 6L square pots

I use Formulex for the first 2 weeks
Then Canna Coco A+B & Rhizotonic for the bloom cycle
Flush in the last two weeks with PH'd water

Oh yeah the EC in my tank is 2.0 and they are loving it.. PH is 5.8

Hi! edsthreadshttps://www.rollitup.org/members/edsthreads-5453.html
Nice to see others with similar setups. The journal was helpful! Nice grow U got there :)
Did you give all your feeding through the tank? Have you experienced problems with salt building up in the medium while using autopots?

Thanks bro appreciate the feedback - I hand watered until they were about 3 weeks old then put them in the Autopot system as the root system will not be big enough to suck up the water from the tray any earlier than that.. I have had no probs wih salt build ups as I was hand watering with about 20% run-off.. I think that coco bricks have more salt than the Canna Coco I am using so you may have to treat your coco bricks first? not used coco bricks myself but I have read they contain more salts than the bagged, washed Coco (Canna)

Yeah! Your grow ware one of those that made me go with auto as a budget option.. So Thank you! :D

The bricks (coco bounce) I got wants 7l of water and turns to ~10l of finished coco. I'm gonna mix this with perlite so I'll get 2 pots full (~16l).

I will probably soke them over night in PH'd (5,6) nutrient solution 1/4 base + 1/2 sensi zyme, voodoo juice, piranha and carboload, witch are the root-climate enhancers. Can't hurt to get the microorganisms on my side from the start. :) And I'll check the ph and ec levels before i use it.. :)

Wow. I would encourage you to use the nutrients at 25% strength at first. That way, you have room to move up, because it's harder to flush out nutes than it is to add them again.

I have to say, while I'm jealous of all of the nutes you have, this is far too complicated for me. I like just a solid base nute, a few additives, but then I'm done. I just can't keep it all straight.

Hats off to you.

Not sure about your first question, but I will definitely be back to see what others have to say.

Hey that's great to hear.. glad to meet someone who I have inspired in some little way to grow with Auto's & Autopots I think you're nute ratio is about spot on.. I only used Canna Coco A&B Nutes & Rhizotonic.. that's it.. I'm really pleased with the results so far.. They love root stimulators so your additives should work wonders..Mine have about two weeks to go before harvest so feel free to comment on my Journal.. god damn, it has had 479 views & no comments!

Will be checking in on your grow bro..

Thanks for all the positive response!

I'm glad to tell you that i got 5 plants to look after (4 none germinating seeds and one that died before ground was broken).
I had a problem with high PH and nutrient lock-out some days ago, my seedlings looked pale and had a yellowich center and "spots". But now i got around a 6 in my tank, post and trays, and green healthy plants..

I will continue to post my progress in my journal thread:
https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/346150-lowlife-autos-blueberry-lemon-skunk.html

Hope to see y'all there.
