10 days old blue cheese turning yellow????help

hey all

sorry bout there not being any pics im working on that i have 6 blue cheese very young and not growing as they should do the leaves are light green and the tips are yellow ive only used h2o upto press no nutes.

any help would be grateful

pH of your H2O?
What sort of container are they in?
What is the temperature in the room and the humidity?
What is the light you are using?
Are you using tap water?

These will make it easier to help you out while you find a camera

sorry jonus very new to all this

ph is 6.5
15 ltr pots
powerplant hps 600w
and yes using tap water

Are you letting the tap water sit for a day before using it to allow the chlorine to evaporate?

tap water is fine, the other side of this is ... if you leave it out for a day ... other contaminates get in, and that chlorine will evap in 10 minutes.

10 minutes will start the process of evaporation but there will still be chlorine in the water if that is what your local council is using in your water, after 2 hours or so the water will be relatively chlorine free.

But what a lot of people do not realise is that their water is often treated with chloramine not chlorine. Chloramine will inhibit plant growth. In hydro grows it will cause the roots to go brown even though you have not let any light into the root area.

Have a talk to the people at your local pet store they will know whats in the water, and if it is chloramine then they will have a neutraliser there you can buy and use.

It literally takes from a day up to a week to rid water of chloramine using the evopation method. Much quicker to get a neutaliser which will take about 4 hours.

you can slightly taste it in my water.... sometimes ill leave it out for 10 .. most the time ill just go and water. ive never tested the levels ... but i know the ph is high .. little over 8 .
i just put some vinegar in the water n bring it down, this is what i water all my soil plants with and my 6 gallon res for my cloner... no problems.
the thing is ... i think chlorine will be evaping faster once its in soil or in a larger container... hasnt effected me .. :leaf:

Always a matter of elimination Impreza. If youve got the soil right, the pH right, the EC, temperatures, air supply, lighting, all correct, then have to look elsewhere. In this case, just need to check whats in the water.

Some pool stores also have a facility where you can bring in a sample of your water and they can test it for you for a fee.

But in the end, need to know a few more details, like soil type, does it have slow release nutrients, and of course, a photo would help greatly.

I would post photo (s) to get the best answers you can. With that said...
Never heard of water sitting for ten minutes then being ok...
Other contaminants get in... of course nothing is perfect, but i'd rather go with a day of sitting than worry about what got into the water while sitting in the reservoir. My .02
you could kill all that noise by buying a filter that they will for sure have at the hydro store, and you can use water the moment you turn the tap on.

My opinion if your leaves are light green and even yellowing your lacking on the fertilizer aspect of it, not water, chlorine, or some of the other nonsense people are talking here. Up the food a bit and see what happens, i bet your plants will be happier.

Hard to say until we see a photo.

If the soil has slow release nutrient in it then he wont need to feed them at all, in that case the problem it would be underwatering since prenuted soil releases nutes when you water.

If the soil is prenuted but has too much bark and water is running right through then that could be a cause.

Too many other issues at play, till we can get a look at the plant we wont be able to make the best assessment.
