10 Gavita 1150W Stagger (5 on/5 off) vs 10 Gavita 600W setup

I could use some help trying to configure my setup. I have 10 Gavita Pros on an 8.5 foot ceiling. I'm deciding if I should run all 10 lights on the lowest setting (600W) or if I should stagger the lights on the 1150W setting (so light 1,3,6,7, & 10 would be on for two hours; then light 2,4,5,8, & 9 would be on for two hours). The layout of the room is pictured below. I'm also leaning towards SCROG/SOG method. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.

I think you smoked one too many .your over thinking it or not providing enough info. Why would you shut your lights off every 2 hours? Run all the lights 12 hours a day, this is how you pull weight . 8.5 foot ceilings your going to have issues running in 1150 mode. I would run 10 of them in 1000 watt mode .

Obviously, it would be better to run all the lights at 1000. I can't do that because it gets too hot if I do. My only options are 1150 staggered light system or all 12 at 600 or 660.

If you can't run them on 1000, then run them on 600. A DE 600 is damn close to a SE 1000 from my experience. But make sure your running actual 600 watt bulbs. The 1000s dimmed down changes the spectrum and isn't as powerful as a 600 bulb on 600w setting. Hope this helps.

No offense to op but I doubt he can afford bulbs if he can't afford an air conditioning. This shoulda been in his game plan way before buying 10 gavitas

Once again .. 8.5 foot ceilings are too short for gavitas . Specially if your doing tables . So you can scratch 1150 off your list cause it ain't gona happen without frying your shit . Next . Will your current Ac DO 10 of them with 600 watts? You really haven't provided us with much info. If you don't have budget for Ac , how will you pay the bills through the run? How many plants per light? Do you have dehumidifiers and burners? Have you calculated these into your temp problems? Is this your first rodeo? What are room dimensions .

8.5 ceilings will work with Gavitas. Not saying its ideal though.

If you give me room dimensions, I can give you the recommended amount of lights (1000s or 600s), and recommended btus for cooling.

10 Gavita 1000 de's is no joke.

Ive never seen any good data on spectrum shift on dimming bulbs. The only data I've seen is that spectrum changes very little. However a gavita 750de puts out more par light at 600watts than a 1000de at 600watts.

trays........yeah........

Ok well the current reflectors don't throw a 4x4 light pattern or anywhere close. They are designed to overlap.

And 8.5 and tables and gavita 1000s is not enough ceiling height.

edit - If your still going to use them in 600 mode or whatever, make sure that the ends of the bulb/ballast face the skinny parts of the table.

When light 1,3,6,7, & 10 are on; light 2,4,5,8, & 9 are off

When light 2,4,5,8, & 9 are on; light 1,3,6,7, & 10 are off

I'm trying to figure out if the overlap from all lights at 600 is better than the overlap of the staggered 1150 lights.

Any help would be appreciated. This is my first rodeo.
