what kind of ph meter are you using? if you're using one of those 20 dollar soil ph testers with the metal probe(s) thats probably your problem... those meters don't work at all. like... at all... i've had one before as well.

its one of those soil test kits that have the ink indicator and sulphar , u can just put the ink straight into water and it gives me a reading off the color chart, i flushed my pots with about 5-6 ph about 3 litres and my pots are only about 700ml big and still 7-8 ph is comming out! i bought some agricultral sulphur and put some in the soil but it doesnt work for like 2 weeks , what can i do !?

I dont know what sort of water u r flushing with, but around where i live, tap water has a PH of 7-8. So if ur flushing with that, then ur PH will stay high.. I had a similiar problem, so i made up a big tub of Water with a PH of 5 and flushed em. You will see the PH increase if u collect the run-off, it's stripping it from the soil. Do it gradually and u will do no further harm to the plants. Good Luck.

i was using tap water and putting lemon juice in there , ok i went and bought some ph down :) , now do u think i should either remove plants from pots and chuck all the soil on a bucket and just stir it with ph down for like 5mins ?

For starts, if it's quality potting soil, your soil's pH is NOT through the roof, your meter (or feelings) is. Give up the meter and learn what makes a plant tick. Nobody sells a potting soil with a pH value out of the range of say.....6.2 - 7.0, which is perfectly acceptable.

then somthing is defenitly fked up , could it be im using the ph indicator ink from my soil kit , not a water kit ? even tho i dont think thers a difference except that sulphar comes with the soil kit so u can see onto of the black soil? im gonna have to buy an electric one but i dont get paid till late next week
