But seriously, if you're in Hydro, and you don't have a pH pen, buy one. You can live without a PPM meter, but you need to know your pH. Also, a door and a REAL extraction fan, like a centrifugal inline fan, will help keep things cool in Flower when you have to enclose that space completely.

With DWC I have seen huge ppm jumps. 3 plants sucking off 1 tub, the swings will be faster. If larger res, I would say it is not as important.

Carbon Filter and Fan if you don't have... i just dropped about 180 on a powerful fan that is quieter than a fan with half the power. 20 for ducting. and about 100 for the carbon filter.
You could probably get a package deal for like 150 bucks but it might be a loud fan.
