1000 hps but loose buds

If your indica grows tight and the sativa grows fluffy... its normal. thats what they do. Plus, sativa takes more time than indica and it should fatten up much later.
You can get tighter buds by adding light in the middle of flowering. If you can get a cooltube and get the light closer it would help a lot.

However, if the indica is just fine and getting the same treatment it is probably a genetics issue.

I can get some pictures later on. It won't really show they are loose loose like you might think. They look full and nice, just not hard. I don't have a CO2 tank in there and rely mostly on seltzer water and air from outside. A tank is coming on my next adventure. Sounds like that might be the issue since nothing else makes much sense. Thanks for the replies.

sativa should be looser than indica. that the way it is.
CO2 should increase your overall health and so promote tighter buds. but you don't have any problem in your setup.

to get tighter buds get more light. would be cheaper to buy an air cooled (or even water cooled) hood and get the light to 12" away. that a LOT more light.

First; how old is your bulb. They are only good for so many hours then they slowly lose there pop. Dust or dirt on the bulb or glass in your hood, make sure they are clean clean clean. Let these guys go until they are ready! Wait until the tricombs are 10% amber color and mostly a milky color. If they are clean keep going. Get yourself a 30x microscope.

You need a nice air conditioner, it will lower the temperature of the crazy amounts of heat that lamp puts off. Thats what causes loose buds is heat, and humidity. Jorge Cervantes +rep... =)

Get a different strain or different nutes and soil.

i say throw it outside and let the sun and air hit it,you ll see a good boost,may even throw some purples on it if you have a good decrease in temp at night!!
