1000 HPS SOG plants barely yeild an eighth.

Here they are 2 weeks from harvest and I got little sticks with super tiny buds.

Why not try a vitamin B product like superthrive during the veg stage. You should build up your root mass before flowering and then stop the supplement.

How long did you veg for? Roots grow slow when flowing, you want to make sure you have good root mass before you flower.
Have you been checking ph and ppm? maybe you have salt build up in your soil? plants look a little stretched, maybe put the light a bit closer.

I veg until plants are 18-24 inches long and I PH my water to 6.2 every feeding.

I'll be using oregonism XL every 2 weeks.http://www.hydrofarm.com/pb_detail.php?itemid=8201

When you guys refer to packing the soil, do you mean like seriously packing it so it's tight as hell, or is a light patting okay just to make sure it's firm and it's not going to sink like hell when you water it?

I get more than that out of 1 litre pots so it ain't pot size.
I pack my soil pretty tight too.
You said earlier you put some friendly bacteria on the roots. That sounds like your problem right there.

its okay to lightly pak dirt enuf to support plant....not so much that u crush the root system..!

Okay cool. When I transplant my cuttings I water the soil very very slightly before poking a larger hole in it then i lightly work the rooted clone down into the hole and then sort of get the soil worked on top of the root system. So far I've had success, hopefully I'm not damaging the roots (knock on wood). I guess time will tell.

i know that pick is 10 days to harvest and the fan leaves should be yellow, but there are not many left on the plant and the ones that are still there are shriveled and crispy. So at what point in the grow do you start loosing all you fan leaves, what are the symptoms you first see.
do you have a hood on that light?
maybe put something reflective on the pot that the plant is in to cool it down a little, the black will just absorb the heat and stunt root growth. Put a fan on em too
i would say add some hydrogen peroxide to your water to get some air to the roots, but not if you have the benneficial microbes, it will just kill the bacteria.... so maybe put an airstone in your water before using it to up the disolved oxygen levels in the water.
hang in there bro there are plenty of people on this site with way more knowlege than me, im sure well get to the bottom of it

Good question, I cant believe I completely ignored it.
I acctually start losing fan leaves around week 3 and it continues until most of the fan leaves die and it will start on bud leaves. Sounds just like an N defficiency right?
I PH my water to 6.2 and only flush when the runoff goes above 6.4. I made a post about it days ago and was told to switch fertilizers. I did that and the N lockout seems to go on just not as bad. I got pura vida grow 6-4-3 feed water water feed and pura vida bloom 2-6-6 with molasses, feed water water feed.

Some examples of an under developed root ball. These came out of six inch square containers the same as the picture of a vegging plant.

Look- If the dirt wasnt firm, when you water the plant all the dirt is loosened and would sink until it settles. Then you have to put more dirt in any way, get it? A big hole is left when the water drains away.

Water them from the bottom. No packing, and promotes growth.

how can I need bigger pots when they dont even use over 2/3rd of the container size as it is? Did anyone see the size of those roots? They should be about 10X that size. When I pull a plant out of the container after harvest there should be thick white roots wrapped tight along the bottom half of the container on the verge if not root bound. Any grower who has had successful harvests can tell you this.

when u have them in smaller pots why dont u try just spraying twice a day rather than pouring water. This will make the roots grow a nice system and slowly make their way down the soil. Then when you transplant they should be ready for normal watering.

Remember not to pack the soil too tight (as has been mentioned so many times) and it should be ok.
