Time to start another journal...

...This time I picked Nirvana's Indoor feminized mix, and I'm not real happy that all the seeds were mixed together, so now I don't know what's what. Grr...lol

Anyway....I germed them about 10 days ago, and they got off to a slow start, because I was sick, and left them in the dark, their first two days. They stretched alot, and tonight, I finally had enough time to get them into 1 gallon pots, and bury most of the stretched stems. They should look pretty nice, in 7-10 days.

Once they recover from the transplant, I'm going to veg them under 1000 watt HPS, and get them out from under the fluoros I've been using. I'm expecting it to work well, so let's hope I'm right.

Soil = (don't laugh) Approx 70% Miracle Gro Potting mix, and about 25% Fox Farms Ocean Forest. I use them both interchangeably, and they perform practically the same. I added a little bit of perlite, for probably about 12% total volume. I used to use alot more, and it worked great, but dried a bit too fast for my liking. Now that I'm working, and don't have as much time, the reduction should help alot.

Nutrients = I'll be using Dynagro Grow and Bloom, along with Protekt(silica) and Calmag Plus. I've found these to work quite well, in the past. I won't be feeding for awhile, probably about 2-3 weeks.

Lights = Right now, they're under 6500K T8 fluoros, running 3/4-1" from the tops. I have the light backed off to take pics. Soon, they'll go under a 1000 HPS, for the duration, til harvest.

That's about it for now, i'm just getting started. I'll probably foliar feed from time to time, I like using it as a safety net, to protekt against deficiencies that haven't shown yet. Never too safe, I say.lol

Okay, now for a couple pics.....

3 days later, and they are looking pretty good, recovering from the transplant, nicely..... :leaf:

Tomorrow they'll need watered(day 4), and I think I'll have them under the 1000 HPS, by Sunday. I just gotta get my ass busy, and hang that big-ass reflector I bought(The Big Kahuna, from HTG Supply).lol I love that thing, it's huge, MUCH bigger that their Euro reflectors, I've been using with my 600. I can't wait..... :bigjoint:

3 days later.....

....And they're really starting to take off, still under the T8's(at less than an inch away) after a good watering, a couple days ago. They're ready for the 1000 HPS, I think, and if I have time tonight, I'll move them over to the flowering room, still on 19/5, for a few more weeks.

Quite a change in only 6 days, huh? Not bad, for Miracle Grow soil, and T8's, which everybody seems to avoid.....lol

Okay, time for my 3 day update.....

.....Still under the T8's, running less than an inch, some 1/2" or closer, and growing pretty well. No ferts yet, but I might include a little Calmag Plus, when I water tonight. I plan on moving them under the 1000 HPS, after watering. I'm curious to see how they react to the change in intensity, and spectrum.

I plan to move them to their final-sized pots, by next weekend, which'll be true 5-gallon buckets. Then I'll veg them for another week or so, before the flip to 12/12. I might wait a little longer though, and do some supercropping, first. It's hard to wait that extra time, but knowing yield will be increased, it's gonna be a tough decision. We'll see.lol For now, here's some pics, taken about 1/2 hour ago.......

Training time....

...it's 2 days later, and time to start training the babies.lol To start, I use something I refer to as "bending", in which the top is bent over and tied to the main stem. It works great, and really sends the side-branching into overdrive. Screw topping, it's crap, compared to this method.lol

After the side branches take off, I plan to supercrop those, making for some nice low bushes, similar to those I've seen in a thread by schwagbag(with impressive results, btw).

I also gave them a foliar feed, just now. I sprayed them heavily(undersides too) with a light mixture of MG fert, and a little bit of epsom salts. I use my regular ferts too, but mix-match a little. MG works great, and I don't give a shit what anybody says about it.lol

Haha, okay, picture time.....

^Thanks guys, I'm looking to pull 4 ozs each,(dried, of course.lol), so stay tuned, and see if i fail, or not. I'm predicting 12/12 will start in 10-14 days, so it won't be long, til the magic starts to happen....
