one 1000w is not going to cover a 10x10 area, you should get a 4x4 or maybe a 4x6 tray. Keep some free space to work around without assle.

Search in the Forums for Closet Growing Plants, with a 600 w HPS you can grow 9-12 plants, averaging around 3 to 4 feet no problem, and with adding SOG techniques, LST (low stress training) and SCROGs you can get a very decent yield, utilize the space you have, if the walls are white, keep em that way, if not, install some emergency blankets on the walls and ceilings (mylar, not that other shit, its very cheap). Install some kind of ventilation to bring in fresh air and push out the old air for good circulation and to keep your ballasts and bulbs cool, with that you can be growing in no time just start off with bag seed for a few test grows to see how it goes and then go on Nirvana or Attitude Seed bank and buy some Feminized or Autoflowering seeds (seeds that flower in about 3 or 4 weeks no matter the light schedule you give them, these are good for beginners like us. You can usually get 5 seeds of some dank from Nirvana for around $35 bucks, plus shipping, and they use stealth shipping so your wife wouldnt even know what it is even if you open it in front of her, the seeds will be hidden inside the stealth item. Not going to tell any of their secrets, others already have blabbed about how Nirvana stealth ships their seeds and shit, that is for the hush hush you know what I mean, we don't want to lose a good company like them because of some dumbasses.

I have about the same size I just started. I'm using 2 450 watt HPS about $60.00 from the hydro. store. To get the whole setup it cost me with lights $480.00
While I was getting some elect. stuff I found this 7/16" partical board with 1 side foiled fo $16.00 ea.
That was 2 weeks ago they have more than doubled in size under just the 1, in a few days I'm turning both of them on.

i have a 10 x 9.5 flowering room in there i have to 1000w hps Grate white 6in ac hoods a light rail 5 light mover with the light rail and the massive hoods i dont have one dead spot the light rail 5 has a 8 for rail works grate and im flowering 20 plants at a time 5 gallon buckets on ebb flow, 2 12 outlet air pumps 6in active air blower 2 6in booster fans stand up AC unit Dehumidifyer and some more stuff. I guess my point here is just becasue the guy at the store told you to buy things dosent mean he was right, you really need to figure out what and how much you want or need to grow how fast and for how long and then when u answer all of those questions you design your room. i cant even help you really yet. what kind of area is it a closet the middle of a rooom i mean what size is the area exactly.

Step 1) Take a bong rip, then put it down and get to work. Sounds like you have a perfect little nook to grow in, I'm jealous. You've come to the right place.

Step 2) Clean CLean Clean that bitch(room) up NOW, beats needing it later when you've got 10 flowering plants in it. Paint the room flat white if you've not already got the walls covered in mylar, for a good reflective surface.

Step 3) Read through these forum searching through hydro and soil growing and decided which one you like best, I suggest starting with soil if your a newbie and get the basics down before you get crazy with it, it won't take long and you'll be able to tell exactly what's wrong when you see a yellowing leaf or a droopy plant.

After you have the room clean and preped and have decided on whether to grow soil or hydro, come back and we'll take it from there homes, good luck.
