12'/10' grow room - 4000 watt / 28 plants... HOW BIG??

I have 28 soil girls started and just wondering how long im gonna veg. I have four 1000 watt which will be hps. roughly 16 by 10' space.. temps are giving me a hard time right now.. I was thinkin two rows of 14, 7 plants per 1000 watt light... as long as I can control temps well i will be adding CO2 into the system shortly

any opinions?? thanks for any help folks

What strain are you growing? how tall is your ceiling? I had about 14 healthy mango kush plants under 1k in soil, burned em with overdrive and still caught 1lb+. they were about 4' tho, with 4 wks veg.

I have a few of the following: master kush, white widow, white lightning, afghan bluberry kush, sour des and NYC SD.. 8 feet ceilings, most of them are almost 2 feet already. If I choose to veg them for a longer period then I will have to transplant them ina few weeks out of there 3 gal bags, probly will either way! But i'm not sure yet, undecided

I currently have some of these plants growing which i veg until they were about 18" they are now 3 '... all of them doubled for the most part.. basically what I'm pondering about is veg them now and long towards 4' or wait two more weeks and aim for 6' plants.. I have the room?

you'll get double the height out of most plants during early flowering. gradually reducing the light cycle will decrease the chance for ridiculous stretching, keeping inter-nodal space to a minimum. thought about bushmaster? I am not suggesting it, because alot of people have been burned, but it's an option if you're willing to tamper with the devil. I read an article once of some guys going with one ml per gallon, and it stopped vertical growth completely. doing such tall plants and already having heat problems is another concern. the air at the top of a 6' plant is different than at the bottom. good luck with that.

I acutally just flipped these yesterday... My largest is a 30" Master Kush, gonna be huge !.. they are on average 2 feet give or take a few inches... but think i shoulda turned a little earlier, goin to grab some 7 gallon bags and fill em' up for transplant ...

Here is what I did.
I have a 8x8 room, with 4x 1kw. I have 12 plants total, so 3 under each lamp.. I vegged for 5 weeks.I am now 4 weeks into flower and they are abt 3'. I did top them all in Veg though, or they would be alot taller. I am shooting for 4' plants. (all of them have had all their lower leaves/branches removed, i just want solid tops)

I've gone through and topped half of all the phenos' ... I did this to see how each plant type reacts to the topping and lower trimming of the plant. I have topped blueberry kush with three 27" main stems, can wait till they double in size! lol

Your height could as much as triple. If they do the tops will be too really close to the lights. Are the plants 2' from the top of the soil? Are you using air cooled lights. The heat problem will also increase the stretch. Sounds to me you are gonna have a headroom problem.

-I've been combating heat problems all grow, that is until recently I purchased some air-cooled reflectors... heat is no longer an issue...

-and if the height becomes a problem I'll bend some of the tops to the side and tie em' down..

-my main concern is mising up a nice organic soil to transplant into, they are currently in 3 gal bags.. my plans are to put them into 7 gal bags., any opinions?

I use fox farm ocean forest. Its full of worm casting and bat guano. I mix 20% perlite to help with compaction and drainage. I know there are other soils that are as good. ive just always used ffof. Never a pest problem or a ph problem. Its a good balanced soil. Being that you are going to use 7 gallon bags, which i think is a little big, it would cost you a small fortune to fill all 28 bags with ffof or an equivalent. I would look into mixing your own. There is alot of experienced organic growers on this site that could help you with the mix.

Yea thanks.. I'm thinkin of mixing up some castings, bloom bat guano, perlite, and some topsoil... maybe add some rock phosphate, or some other bloom granular fert. Cheap and good for the job in hand

yes these have been vegging under two 1000 MH.. They will soon be getting two new HPS systems and some extra HPS bulbs for a total of 560,000 lumens of HPS !!

- my original plan was to have two or three lights on movers, but I spent the money on extra lights instead. either way they love it

That sounds similar to my first grow.. I had twelve under 1k... Topped them all more than once and trimmed everything below the canopy, really ended up with some large dense colas... That was aeroponics tho. I flipped those at about 18" and ended up at just around 36"

KingsTHC, whats your electric bill like with the 4 1k's all set up with everything else. I am trying to estimate on the same set up, possibly adding another 1k, i know there are a lot of considerations, just curious.
