12/12 from seed Party Cup Comp - Mystery Meat Grow

@Greenthumbs256 - Thanks for the advice. There are a lot of new things in play on this grow for me with this; CMH light which they are currently under, 12/12 photoperiod right out of the gate, unknown genetics, and running a 16oz party cup for the entire grow. I do have the seedlings positioned about 12" off the table and 36" below a 315w CMH. The stretch all happened in a 48hr period. Anyway, I think the stretch is done because they're adding leafs instead of stretching.
although I've never personally ran the cmh, I have heard they have the best spectrum on the market! out of any and everything! well maybe not best, but closest thing to the sun as you can get, and far more uv, than anything else on the market! don't take my word for that, it's just what I've heard around some of the threads! I'm sure someone else could chime in with better info on that!

also I totally get the running new things, I'm also in the same boat! I've never done a 12/12 solo cup comp, or any kind of comp! but I can promise you for a fact beyond a doubt the stretch is 100% solely bc of the light height, like I explained! but I get not wanting to fry them, bc of the light you have never used before!

I'm in a similar boat, bc I've never had a seedling under a 1k hps! so trust me I'm right there with ya man! but like i said, I'd bet ya my first born child that the stretch is 100% bc of the light distance!

@Greenthumbs256 - I'm not disputing the light was too far away. What is important is that they are done stretching and are adding leaves. I fully expect them to be able to stand on their own within a week. It may even be something that works out to be a benefit… who knows?! I would up pot them and bury 4" of stem if I was not in this competition… that way nobody would ever know!

@ColoradoHighGrower - I'll take that into consideration. Here is a picture that will illustrate current setup. I'll basically swap out the stack of rose pots for a 5 gallon bucket and piece of plywood and get to ~24".

With all this advice it doesn't really feel much like a competition! Appreciate the insight fellas!View attachment 4278721
I agree they were stretching looking for light just as they would outside trying to get up through and above the grass to find the sun. A small breeze would strengthen them up some if you dont have it already. Is that a 315 fixture similar to the vivosun?

Growing unknown genetics in a solo cup from 12/12 is hard enough lol
ain't that the dam truth! I been looking at everyone's babies, and thinking I may be the only one with an indica, or indica leaning! some of you guys have some heavy leaning sativas for sure! them long skinny leaves is a dead giveaway! but your right man, solo cup alone is a challenge, have no clue on genetics is a whole nother level! plus the 12/12 deal!

if we're being honest here, I've got zero intentions of winning, I'm just hoping to finish the dam thing! lmfao!

I would leave the light schedule the same. Most strains/plants can tolerate "some" light interruptions.
Plants outdoors are subjected to quite a bit of light on nights when it's clear and the moon is Full.
Is there any way that you can eliminate the light from your air conditioner? Do you have to run it when your lights are off?
no way I can fix the light leak, that's why I'm swapping schedules, it comes through the entire ac! anything short of a big piece of carboard and duck taping the entire thing, then light would still leak, and if i do that, twice a day I'd have to seal and unseal it!

so really running during the day is kinda my only sensible option! and yes I have to have my ac, running 2x 1k hps! heat is a major issue!

and pulling the ac out, and putting back in, then sealing the window, twice a day is just not even sensible, way to much bs! swapping to running during the day is so much easier! light coming through the ac during the day, when the lights are on, isn't an issue at all! and since I've got like 23 days left, heat shouldn't get too bad, bc were still early in the winter! or spring!

OK! You asked for advice and what "you guys" thought, but it seems like you've already decided what you wanna do! So, pardon me, I erased my post!
it's not like that man, just saying my options are limited, don't take it the wrong way man, I appreciate the help, wouldn't have posted if things were set in stone!
