12/12 from seed questions

Hey, I've been setting up an armoire/cabinet for some time now and I am planning on using cfls for my first run through to save for bigger better lighting. I remember seeing a thread where a poster had used a high number of small plants ran on 12/12 lighting from seed and had great yield results. I can no longer find this thread but my questions are, can I do this method in a dwc style Rubbermaid tote? And if so how tightly spaced could this be done. If I recall correctly what I had previously read here the goal is to get single cola plants and a decent number of them which produces a fair yield. If this is possible and spacing can be tight plants should be around 2ft tall and I could do an upper and lower shelf in my armoire that would have 2 x 18g containers each. If anyone has any experience with this style of grow or knows where I could find such information could you please help me out.

Never done it, though have done 12-12 from seed. It wont yield well, but you can have more plants, With CFLs, trick is to keep them VERY close once in flower. That makes me wonder about two levels. You would need two sets of lights.

All in all, I don't see the benefit of 12-12. With good training, you can have fewer plants to mess with, only take a month longer to harvest, yield more, and really not have them any taller.

In dwc you will yield a bit more in 12/12 its the same concept only thing that changes is the medium I would recommend using grow nutes for the first 2 weeks then transition lightly into bloom just because yhe plant itself seems to veg just my opinion in 12/12 from seed in soil i use the ph percect grow micro bloom and voodoo juice then drop voodoo and continue with bud candy and terpinator then final weeks hit with overdrive

Thank you, and ironically enough I did stumble onto a grow journal of a grow like this but 21 strains almost immediately after posting this haha. But I want to say the original posting I had read was done in 2 liter bottles. I feel like if I could squeeze maybe 2-4 plants per square foot in in a dwc style grow and yield maybe 1/2 oz per plant if done alright then this method could work quite well for me

I've done two 12/12's and was really disappointed, even a two week veg in DWC would yield lots more IMO. But two grows is not enough to really base an opinion on.

^^^^ sorry to hear yours failed........ these were kosher kush popped and immediatley given 12/12, i then gradually went to a 10/14 then an 8/16. trying to emulate fall sun coverage as much as possible.

Vtm those plants look nice, heavy sativa strain looks like? Looks like maybe some topping or supercropping done but I could be mistaken, very nice. I think if I did this I would rather lollipop and trim majority of side growth to minimize plant space taken to ensure a larger cola and lots of them but i know theory only goes so far in reality lol.

I didnt say they failed lol. Just that I get perhaps double with a 21 day veg. So yup dissapointed but nope not a fail. The Kosher I grew was vegged for 21 days and averaged 2 ounces a plant I believe. I was kinda disapointed with the strain though lol, not the powerful strain it was hyped to be.
