12/12 from seed, switch to 18/6

Hi,

I was going to make an experimental grow with 12/12 from seed but I'd rather grow them the old way. 5 or 6 days have passed since seeds have sprouted.

Can I still switch to 18/6 without having issues? Will this stress them too bad? Some plants don't even have their second set of leaves. Also, shall I switch gradually?

Thanks.

I would assume by now the hormones have changed so switching back will cause reveg. No you don't have to gradually change light cycle. If you've never revegged before it will look strange for a few weeks as they come out of it. They'll be fine though

They'll be fine, carry on

"will cause reveg"

Reveg what, they are 5 days old......
Like I said, "I would assume" .when flipping to flower some strains can hormonally switch in less than 5 days, how do you think that happens? 12/12 from start is automatically putting them into flower. It may not reveg but it certainly could! He said they had a few sets of leaves so we're not talking about a sprout using its cotyledons.

Even with 12/12 from start they are not instantly flowering. They take around 3-4 weeks to start showing sex. Even starting 12/12. At 5 days old they are not mature enough to flower hence no worry about reveg

I see what your saying but all plants take a week or two two show sex but have already switched hormonally far before you see signs of sex. I have taken a lot of clones that 3-4 days after flip thought would be fine because wasn't seeing any preflowers only to have them reveg. That's all

Either way I only commented to let him know if he sees any crazy shit not to worry. My first reveg was all 30 of my plants and i wigged out as I didn't know that was a thing. Thought I had some trash genetics on my hands, as I was monocropping at the time. Lol

i don't know, depends on what his goals are. which is why I figure they could go weird or perhaps not. Never done 12/12 starts but have revegged a lot unfortunately.

Im in a tropical zone so basically 12/12 year around. At that age it makes no difference and as stated previously dont sex until minimal 3 weeks in so you'd still have a bit of time before shift affected them

Good to know, thanks ^^
