12/21/12 the end of the world!!!!!

so does anyone believe the world is ending on the 21st? if so explain. i do not believe it i think its a bunch of B.S. like year 2000 was. What about the mayan calender, they say they have been right about everything else and the end is soon lol.
 
I personally don't believe it but just in case I'm throwing an end of the world party. Might not be the end of the world but damn it we are gonna drink like it is.
 
Like Martin Luther I had a dream.
I was next to a freeway walking up a sloped grass covered hill and random people were milling around.
It was clear we were confused and disturbed by the heat.
I remember the direction of travel was dictated by getting hotter or colder and colder
was better. Then I saw lights in the sky. First I thought it was a military craft of some kind.
Then it became more clear it was not and it moved directly overhead and using some short burst laser targeted and killed some of the people very near. It traveled back and forth wiping out randoms. Then it moved very quickly across the horizon again the focus was the heat but I could not take my eyes away from the direction the craft disappeared into. All of a sudden a very bright light appeared where the ship was and it was clear that it just deployed some weapon of mass destruction. Shortly after the flash I figured out what the heat was from as another wave rolled in. We must have been far enough away that it was not intense enough to kill me but it was getting hotter all the time. I have no idea where my family was and that was bugging me but the real immediate problem was finding cool air.
AWAKE!

Part of me is clearly worried while the more rational part say`s it is just bs.
I think you would have to be special to not let it effect you in the slightest.
I have had a few dreams like this that stuck with me over the years.
Really I just think my brain needs to think about these things when I`m asleep because
when I`m awake I shut that kind of shit down like most humans.

But no I do not think the world will end or even begin to end on the 21st.
The end started at the beginning. I plan to die in a nursing home getting my ding dong washed
by a cute nurse 40 years or so from now.
 
Nope, no end of world coming,just the end of a cycle... they would of made the next calendar too, they just never got around to it.

I hope there is some kind of catastrophic event that wipes out most of the worlds population. Of course with me and everyone on riu being survivors. We can have an awesome survival party! I personallly would love living on post appocalyptic earth, much more than what wre dealing with now, were overdue for a fresh start

too bad I have a very hard time believing anything will actually happen, a boy can wish though...
 
nothing will happen.....the mayans were actully getting angry at mainstream media for perpetuating such lies...its literally the end of a almost meaningless cycle

I doubt anything is gonna happen on dec 21st but as I said in another thread Solar Flares are a real possibility and a bitch. If a big enough flare hit us it would obliterate all electrical grids and we'd be without power for a years. To be honest, i dunno if i would really mind at all. If the events of the world continue to get worse and worse, it wouldn't be a bad thing to just restart and learn from our mistakes. Unless of course we all go into barbarian mode and kill each other for food and whatnot. Shit would hit the fan with no electricity.

Not to mention in the event of a asteroid or comet plummeting at us, with no electricity we wouldn't even know its happening. we would all just be sitting, chillin, and you see a huge ass asteroid flying at earth. That would really suck

1. Who is "they"?
2. What exactly have the mayans predicted and been correct about?
2. When did the mayans predict 12-21-12 was the end of anything but a cycle on their calendar? It would be no different than making a calendar that goes up to 12-31-2999, and some civilization finding that in the future and declaring 12-31-2999 is the end of times because the calendar mysteriously ends, when really the much simpler explanation of "when that happens we roll the thousands place up one digit and start counting at 1-1-3000" makes way more sense.

2. off hand dont no but i watch tv and have heard about a few things
3.just going by what ive read online and heard on tv, and as you all know tv and internet doesnt lie

1. No they didn't. Also how did the mayans tell you this?
2. If you heard it on tv from an unnamed source it must be true.
3. Every source you have heard it from has lied. The mayans never predicted anything. It is merely the end of a cycle on their calendar, just like 12-31-1999 is the end of a millennium on our calendar.
 
i wonder if anyone was crazy enough to go down into a bomb shelter in 99 with enough supplies and what not to still be down there and not know we are up here..

dude chill the fuck out. i dont believe this shit, just started thread to see what people say. and anyways i know tv and internet lie man its common sense. i put it in toke and talk to talk about not be a little bitch about and argue
