12 OG Kush clones in Aero

holy hell man that's one of the nicer aero setups I've seen. I mean, according to the plants, goegeous! If you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost ya to get the whole aero setup running? Not including lights or clones or anything like that. Just the aero setup itself? I've been in soil for a while, and have heard about the growth rate on hydro/aero but holy hell man! That shit's amazing! I'd love to try and make the switch to aero/hydro I just don't know what the best idea would be for a new aero/hydro setup since I've never grown in anything but soil.....
buckets were 5 with tops X6 =$30
the pink stuff which is a "Noodle" pool toy for kids, $12
Pump, 40gal/hour=$20-$30
PVC tubing and other inner stuff =$20

assuming you have the hole saw to drill the holes.....around $100

This is my first grow in anything other than soil and Ill never go back to soil.

Damn man that's sweet!.. Well would you say it's harder to run hydro? Having to change out the res ect ect? Because I'm not gonna lie, and I'm not trying to brag or anything here, but my plants in soil are healthy as can be. And it's just easy to grow them out! I just have to check on them once every 3 days, but other than that they do all the work for me. Same with hydro? Or would you say it's harder? Like using nutes and stuff like that ect...

Thanks again for the help dog.

OG Kush does have about 40 different known versions now I guess, at least 8 major ones I was tracking. I have played with OG Kush SFV "San Fernando Valley" and the OG Kush version from Reseda Discount Caregivers. The SFV OG gets touchy with heat, this is the "doesn't fall over" that you had mentioned. Heat causes stretch and some strains have a lower heat thresh hold. Now the RDC cut of OG Kush I have is stupid doesn't care about heat so much, for example I have 1 plant that is alive after the 103, 105, 106 degree days we just went through, OG Kush RDC. Not only is she still out there and alive, she is chasing the sunlight across the sky. Stupid tough strain, so I am thinking there are a lot other OG Kush strains that have this trait. Just so damn tough.

I am always filling the resoivour with nutrients, about 2 gallons every 4-5 days and every month it gets a total cleaning, plants go into the bathtub of nice PH'd water and root gel while I tear apart the system and do a full cleaning and scrubbing. But it hasnt been very dirty or full of scum, its really a great system. This winter will be interesting when I dont have this fricking heat to deal with and I am planning on doubling my grow and seeing what happens.
I loved soil too, but I also didnt like girls when I was younger..now that I am older, wiser and smarter...well it was time to try and run with the big dogs.
I liked my old avatar as you said it was easy to find my posts ;-)

I just purchased some Kushie Kush from the local store around the 45th parallel and hope that will bring some added bonus to my girls. I am also adding a wetting agent called CoCo something, it helps with the roots and nutrient uptake.

Feckin LOVE this man!!!! ^^^^ Gave me a good 'ol laugh. Great metaphor!

And DAMN man... Looking GORGEOUS!!!! lol, WoW! Man, if I had the extra money, I'd try switching over to hydro. I may just have to do 1 plant hydro to start off with. See how it goes, and then make my decision. Thanks for the info man! It's much MUCH appreciated! Your a great grower, can't wait to see what you can harvest!

Hey that is pretty funny.. hehehe I run dirt and Aero NFT both I have to tell you someday I hope to make a Aero plant go through it's whole life with never having a single issue, currently a title only held by my dirt plants. They are the "creme" of my crop I plan to smoke every last leaf of those ones. :) Shit I think that makes me a pot pedafile

I love soil as well, its so much more forgiving than hydro and I love the flavor, but for my first grow in hydro (this thread) I cant shake a stick at the results, everyday I am still amazed that this plants havent even reached 2 months in age and they will blow anything in soil, at the same age, out of the water (pardon the pun).
Honestly I cant ever see going back to soil unless I get the 1000+ acre ranch in CO. I have been looking at for many years when I am baked I dream about these ranches

I put one together just today for around $35 for a single bucket. $25 for the pump, 5 for the bucket n lid, and ten for pvc, connectors and a 360 sprinkler mister head. Got the idea from JoC's ass-kicking journal hereand a thread I found about replicating the Aquamist system. You could probably pull off the 3 bucket set-up here for well under $100 with a little shopping savvy.
To JoC, thanks for the inspiration buddy. The girls I dropped in there a few hours ago already have little rootlets reaching through the net pots. I thought I was tripping at first, but no. Aero rocks!

Looking good! I hope mine come out looking like that. I'm loving the aero-buckets, btw. Built a second one today, with its own pump and all that, with plans of expanding them to 3 bucket units per pump when I have more room. How much water is your res on a per-bucket basis?

I try and keep it to 1-2 gallons per bucket. I am feeding 2 gallons every 3-4 days and now that they are flowering it seems to have slowed a little.
