Has anyone out a mini split inside their tent? I was thinking i could make a stand for it.

My tent is in my garage which is a 3 car garage. It gets up to 115 in there during the summer and is mot insulated or id cool down the garage.

Currently using a portable ac unit thst exhausts smell and heat in to the garage.

I have a 12000 btu mini split ac unit befpre i install ig and ruin my chance to return it i figured I'd ask people whonknow better. Also worried about having too much cfm for the girls.

Exhaust the heat from the portable outside, use an inline ozone generator if need be.

You really need to cool the garage, I can imagine the tent walls radiating 115 degree heat. Gonna be difficult to cool.

Hey there, I have installed a Mr Cool 12000btu Mini split on my 4x8 tent in my garage. I was having the same problem as you are with a portable unit (down in Texas my garage hit 120f) , A mini split works great make sure to install the unit up high on the tent. I did mine in the middle then had to raise it cause it was blowing in the middle of my plants lol. I have currently installed the portable unit in the garage just to help with the issue of radiant heat and losing cool air when I water, but I ran the tent for months 70-72f with 3000w lighting without it installed no problems.

Awesome! How did you hang it? From the tent poles or did you make a stand for it? I was worried that there might be too much CFM coming from the unit for the plants.

Good point, I think in the long run I'm going to dry wall a section of my garage and make a grow room instead of a tent.

To help with that heat. I might build a box around the tent for the interim. Might be easier to mount the mini head to solid foam sheet. @Renfro is the man on minis. I only use a wall shaker.

Insulate that room really, really well. You won't regret that move. Spray foam is by far the most effective solution. Sides and top.

I've seen dragonhouseterpz on IG install them in tents. Building a room is your best bet, spray foam insulation is the best but kinda pricey. For a small space it might not be that bad it was 4k for the entire shellf of 850 sq ft building
