Ok at the moment i am using a whole room about 13'x13' with 9 plants in under 4 600watters

As above i want to buy a tent as i need the room back so i am gonna go the SoG route..

im gonna use 2x 600 watters for light and im gonna purchase 2x cool tubes for them to live in. Would i get away with a 100mm fan for this?

I have 3 available plants for use from a friend which are PPP, Blue Cheese and Critical mass.I understand that a more indica dominent strain is the one to go with.
I am looking for ok THC but more on the weight side!

Am i right in thinking i can use 6" square pots for this? If so i reckon i can fit 80 plants in with a little space to spare

I have no idea what im expecting to yeild but i normally get about 10oz from one of my soil plants

Has the resevoir got to be double the size of the flood tray? or was i told a fib?

Sorry for all the questions, But hey thats why im here :D

From everything i've heard PPP is a good strain to SOG. Theres a user running blue cheese right now and he reported less than ideal cola sizes. Critical mass sounds beefy, haha. You're right on the indica dom/hybrids.

6" square pots work if you're going for 4 per sq. ft. You just gotta keep the bottom third clear of off-branching in week 1 of flower and week 3 and push a lot of air between them so mold and mildew doesn't appear. If you're getting 10z a plant with 9 plants you're going to see a yield decline. You've grown before so you should get an oz a plant lollipopped right from the start if not a bit more on some, assuming you have a good yielding strain. So prolly about 80oz. +- 10oz is a good number for an experienced grower.

The reservoir should be big enough that your ppm doesn't go skyrocketing once your plants sucks up a bunch of water. And not too big that you're wasting nutes and having a falling ppm. It's been recommended to go 5L per plant. So you should go with 400L or about 100+ gal.

Cheers mate.. the yield decline was always gonna be a factor with this but to be honest im not too bothered with 10oz decline i was worried i would be going from 90/100oz to 30oz lol.The space taken will be far less than soil, plus no dragging 20 bags of soil into my home every 4 months as as i understand most hydro materials are reusable
Another thing the turnaround will be a lot quicker too

Yeh i wasnt sure about the "lollipop" method but i heard the lower brances taken while doing this make the best cuttings so maybe something to consider for defo

But all round this sounds like a win/win situation

Why didnt i do this before?... Well i am scared of messing the plumbing up as i will have to D.i.y the flood table from timber and maybe a pond liner or something similar

Thats big brass balls man, if you make your own F&D table outa wood make it damn good. Remember water weighs 8 pounds per gallon. If you flood 80 gallons thats 640 pounds of water in the table, the downward force should be fine, id be sure to heavily reinforce the sides as this is where i see potential for disaster. a 4x8 table would prob run you less than 200 and if you back out timber & liner costs, and time to make it, and the possibility of a major 80 gallon+ nute flood in your house... I might look at buying one unless you have no way of doing so.

imo if you go from 4 x 600 light to 2 then your yield will be alot less than the 90 oz, 90 oz with 4 x 600 lights is about 1 gramme a watt(great result) to try and pull that weight with only 2 lights is going to be very hard, to get around the same weight with 2 lights you need to hit 2.1 grammes per watt of light. i would say you'd pull about half the weight(35-40 oz)

Agreed, I think it would be maybe impossible to get 2.1 Gs per watt? At 10oz plant is huge, with SoG they are gonna be little ladies... I think Robsterb is thinking along the right lines in terms of Grams per Watt.

If I get 1 gram per watt ill be very happy. 1.2 is considered a professional/illustrious yield.
