i got 8 27w cfls right now and was thinking of changing to one 125. they would produce the same amount of lumens and the heat would be lower too? anyone have opinions??

really i was thinkin that a 125w would put out like 15000 lumens compare to the 1800 lumen 27w 1800X8=14400 ?? and the hassle would be alot less then the monstrosity that i built

lol the 125w cfls have 12000 lumens and thats only one of thosse makes as the cheaper one is shit like 8000 lumens and it doesnt matter you will need more than just a 125w
lol
I got
1 x 125w 2100k
2 x 85w 2700k
4 x 30w 6400k
3 x 25w 4000k - 6400k
just for one plant

lol a 125w bulb wont get you shit lol maybe grow in veg but budding you got not chance
With Cfls you need more than you would with a Mh or a Hps .
i would say no less than 250w of cfls just for one plant (For Flowering)

keep the little ones cause you need to get light within an inch or two of every part of the plant.

Ok lets have alook at yours.
Lol all the leaves fucked and burned good luck ..
lol mine hasnt got a mark on it and its like 1/2 ft

its not about touching the plant its about giveing the plant what it needs without burning or just fucking it up and making it go crippled

The closer you put it the more direct air movement you need but better lighting.

Farther less air movement but worse lighting.

Minor burns wont hurt but that depends on what MINOR burns is in the persons opinion saying it.

I would put it as close as possible but not alow it to be burned you have to do some sort of regulation. I once had four 48" bulbs and a 250 watt HPS a few inches away but it was all about the regulation and you know I had a good harvest.

Also, you don't have to get them close you don't have to use a 250 watt HPS.

If you want to get a better yeild you will want that and you will have to add some more regulation for air movement otherwise you might as well be happy with what you got.
