13 hour light cycle

I've been growing a while but recently came into possession of an extra light. I have 24/0 tents, 12/12 tents and occasionally will turn the 24/0 to 16/8 in order to get the plants to show sex, some of them get quite large under 24/0 without showing. I wanted to save some power and see if it get some of "the stretch" out my plants before flowering so i put them under a 13 hour on light cycle. Ive done this before i ended up harvesting after moving to my 12/12 after only 50 days which was great. They seem to flowering a lot more than expected though. Ive been cutting it back to get a solid canopy going before moving to my flowering tent but im not sure how o should proceed now as it seems to be ready do to go but idk if i should top it again, if it going to stretch. Top and move to 12/12?

Well you put it to 13 hours of light so its in flower. Your run that "took 50ndays to flower" didn't take 50 days, it took some number of days at reduced light then an aditionaly 50.

So you think "the stretch" is over? Usually because my height limitations, i will put it into 12/12 and let it stretch then clip anything thats going to burn.

Exactly what strain was this that you chopped 50 days after flipping? Got any pics of that bud?
Well it was under like 13-15hr light for a few weeks, so it had some buds forming when i switched it to full on 12/12. The extra light i have, i dont have a tent so i made one with cheap mylar but just to keep light in, its not light proof and its next to a window. So i just set it to whatever the sun was doing so it wouldn't be too confused i think its 13.5 or 14 hours on.

Stretch normally ends about 2 weeks after it's under less than about 15 hours of light. Every strain is differant, up to 4 weeks of stretch is possible.

Personally I love stretching, with the right genetics n manipulation it can produce high yields.

But sometimes it can be problematic.
Some ways to combat it is to ....

Keep the night n day temp deferential as close as possible.

Strip the plant a little before you’re at your desired height.

Up pot the day of flip.

This strain in the pic, is the 1st run in the new setup, & 1st run with just this pheno, so wasn’t 100% how it was going to react.

It stretched a lot more the anticipated, n was getting to close to the light at day 15

Now she has to put energy into healing n bud sites not vertical growth.
