14 hour dark period during end of flowering...

I'm curious with the results that ppl got with 10 hours of light and 14 hours of dark. I understand that longer dark periods tend to ripen buds faster, so is it a good idea to give the plants a longer dark cycle towards the end? They have about 10 or 14 days to go. I have always been on a 12/12 cycle for flowering with 36 hours of dark at the end. Am I missing out or what?!? Thanks a lot...

No, longer dark period does not ripen buds faster. Time to ripen is mostly genetic, and cannot be changed by light period differences.

What you actually want is to give your plants as many hours of light each day, while keeping them in flowering mode. Rob Clarke said in "Marijuana Botany," that 10 hours of light per day produces half of the THC of 12 hours of light a day.

So I give my flowering plants 13 hours of light per day.

I have also heard this, and thank you very much. I've been caught up with this 10/14 cycle thing for the past couple days was really thinking of doing it, but i'm glad I asked. What about a certain dark period at the very end of flowering?
