150 watt hps from HTG Supply

I bought and am waiting on the HTG 150w HPS with reflector. This is a smokin deal for an entry level lamp. I am preparing the growbox, but I'm not sure the best way to hang the reflector. Should I put two eye bolts at the top? Top center? How far apart?

I would eventually like to get a batwing (I think) type reflector, as the one that comes with the kit I ordered is 6" deep, and in my 3.5 foot bow, I need as much vert. space as I can get.

Just screw 2 eyebolts in the ceiling about 24" apart. The reflector will probably come with the hangers for the reflector.

150w? Are you just growin one plant?

Probably 2 plants. LST or scrog! There will be supplimental side lighting too, to boost luminosity.

yea i'd suggest gettin a 42w cfl for each side of your grow box.

Good idea. Like I mentioned, a footprint of 19" by 26 " and only 3 feet tall. I think I'll end up investing in a 250 watt replacement kit and swap everything out after this, but this shuld work well for now with added CFLs.

I have seen 4 plants grown under 150hps, 3 square feet is the optimal light range for 150 I think. (50 watts per square foot) Lst training and short veg cycles that produce short plants will make this better. 2 plants easy depending on the size of your pots. Just think if you can get 2 oz off your plants and you have 2 plants, shit a qp is a nice harvest for such a small lamp. I will take that anyday.

I started to order this exact lamp but found one with the ballast built in the reflector.

the built in ballast is nice, but you battle more heat around the reflector!

150w def works good for up to 4 plants
