Growing a feminized autoflowering strain called Hobbit(Was a freebie from Attitude) under a 150 watt HPS potted in nothing more than Promix BX potting soil. The plant looks healthy enough and is a little over a week old. Should I be adding any kind of nutrients at this stage or is there enough in the potting mix already to sustain the plant until it gets a little bigger? Also how close should the light be? That HPS has only been in there for about a day should it be closer? I plan on cleaning the whole closet out this weekend and lining the walls with Mylar as well. Sorry about the crappy pic quality my camera doesnt like closeups. Thanks in advance for any advice!

As a rule, I wait at least two weeks, or until four leaf sets have developed, before I introduce my plants to their beginning solution. The reason for this is because in their early growth, the plants must not have any sources of stress so that they can get used to their grow medium and set down a healthy, prolific root system.
-adding nutrients too soon can burn your poor little plants' sensitive root system and even kill them
-It is always better to wait until you've set your plants into their mediums with at least 2 weeks of water and care. then mix up a diluted beginner solution (200-300 ppm) and feed that for 7-10 days. Then, each subsequent 7-10 days, increase the strength by 2-300 more ppm. Before the final flush with Advanced Nutrients' "Final Phase," your feed solution for that little auto should be in the range of 1100-1300 ppm, considering that it will finish in 70 days, roughly.

What do you use for air?
I'm a beginner too .. I don't know with what to start: normal feminized seeds or autoflowering feminized seeds
I want to start my first grow under a 400w hps
What do you guys think?

The 150 Watt HPS gives off about 12 inches of optimal penetration during flower to give you dense buds so keep a tape measure handy and use it roughly at the base of the pot to the bulb. As for nutrients your pro mix will most likely do you well throughout vegetation as your baby only needs nitrogen and a few micro nutrients to stay looking dandy.
In flower you will need to add nutrients because phosphorous becomes more demanding. I would suggest the general organics line bloom formula as well as a bloom booster bio bud, and always use light amounts of nutrients when mixing like 1/4 of what the bottle says, get yourself a shot glass so you can get accurate measurements in mL when adding to your solution.
Keep your grow area clean and uncluttered get a little desk fan from Walmart and point it at the bulb if you don't already have one even if you live in a cold climate the radiant heat by the bulb could irritate your baby.
