150W HPS, 4 bulb 2' T5 or 240 Blackstar LED

Alright, here's the deal. I have a 26" long, 18" wide and 36" high grow space to work with. I already have a 150W hps but I think that may get to hot. Any opinions on what would be better, a 2' 4 bulb T5 system or a 240W blackstar LED? I'm looking for maximum yield, but of course I want some good buds as well. I figure with the T5 I could have my plants maybe 6-10" closer and utilize the space more, but I'm not sure if the quality and yield will be better with the LED. Any advice from people who have some experience with a similar situation?

Thanks

I would say the T5's. Just got my 96w 2'x4 bulb fixture and i love it. No heat at all, I have a feeling your gonna have high temperature problems with the HPS, but if you can control it, go with the HPS.

That's what I'm thinking BB. I already own a 150w hps. Maybe I'll try it out and if it gets too hot i'll replace it with a T5. My plan was to start with the hps since I already have it, but I wasn't sure whether to go with T5 or LED if the HPS didn't work out. Thanks for the input guys!

Sorry if this is already a done deal. I spent the last 15 minutes trying to upload. Anyway for what it is worth.
I have t5 and 150 in the same area for a better spectrum.
The 150hps creates most of the heat the t5 is negligible.
You probably know you can interchange flowering and vegging bulbs in that t5 so this is a pretty versatile setup for cheap.

I am interested why the 240w Blackstar wouldn't cut it? I am tied between a 400w HPS/MH from amazon and the 240w Blackstar for a 3x3 grow area.

I don`t know your situation but When its hot outside I run the lights at night and when its cold I run them at night.
So I guess you could say I run the flower room at night, lol
It helps in my location. My small room is 4x8x9ish and the 150 and t5 warm it up but with a small vent fan it is fine. I see some of these guys in small areas with good size hids so I know it is possible.

It's about high 20f at night, and my actual living space is 11x11 or so. I have a 3x3x6(height) area for growing. So with a cool tube 400hps I should be good with temps? I don't want to really run a inline fan on max and sound like an airport

i have a 400 on a mover in a 2x4x5 closet for selfing and I use a holmes air filter for ventilation into the room

Consider the BS Chrome. I have a similar set up that has been great at 30" for veg. Started flower yesterday after 45 days. Others have had great success with BS. Wejuana has a few journals with BS. Look at them.

If you go T5 bulbs, take advantage of that PAR- that will give you some serious quality.

Read up brother.

And led's are a very viable options.

This site shows many journals to prove that, good luck
I have been doing nothing but that for the last 2 months, love the RIU journals. It seems there are people who swear by the BlackStar, let alone LED; and then there are those who say its trash. I am now leaning towards the iPower 400w w/ cool tube on amazon.

Why not use the 150HPS you have now, and snag 4x 24" CFL's to run vertical on the corners of the space?

I like this idea. I think I may have a good solution in my head to control the heat with the hps. If so, I think i may throw some lights in the corner

I had a 600w hps in a 3x3x6 area and never had trouble with heat. I did have to use a 4" inline fan with a reducer though. You could only hear it if my place was dead quiet. I just stuck an old oscilating fan in the room and nobody ever noticed.
