I've got a list of about 30 different strains in mind, although I'll only be ordering about 4 different strains. I will definitely be buying Green Poison(Sweet Seeds), Strawberry D-Lite(Sagamartha) and Northern Lights(Nirvana). I'm really considering getting Blue Dream(HSO) as a 4th option.

As for all of these ive personally grown Lemon Skunk by Green House as a freebie and it did well. Also Reserva Privadas Pineapple Chunk did pretty well. Dense solid sticky buds.

But out of all of those my favorite has been the GRAPE GOD!!! by Next Generation. I have a grow journal of it in my signature and it is a wonderful strain. Decent producer, super strong and resin filled, amazing taste, and wonderful density. It grew nice and christmas tree like. with short indica leaves but theyre skinny like sativas.

I order from SeaofSeeds these days, used to be attitude but you get more for your money with seaofseeds. I've pretty much eliminated all of the Pineapple from my list as I've given up on it. I just can't seem to enjoy the smokes I've had with any Pineapple strain.

I'll be sticking with feminized seeds for now, as I want a guarantee on at least 1 female. And I feel that my inexperience could cause problems with regular seeds. Perhaps next year I will venture onto the regular seed market.

And your Grape God certainly did look worthy of the Gods. Kudos to that.

As for feminized and regulars ive so far messed with alot of fems but a few regulars. Definitely get more sturdy plants but if your budgets tight then fems are for you.

The grape god was a single fem seed that we got as a "hope this turns out good" strain and it surprised us all.

Luckily for me, my closet that I'm growing in is quite narrow so I'm able to hang the lights off the wall and they're all nicely positioned for the plants. I have 4 plants, 2 are seedlings(C99 and Lemon Kush), 1 in flower(C99) and 1 which is still waiting for maturity(Lemon Kush).

It's a real ghetto set up, but it's doing it's job well as it's only for personal growing. I do want to get better results though, which is why I'm planning on spending around £600 on a new set up. Which includes a 250w HPS system, new medium(canna coco), new fans, new pots(5litre due to space problems with 8litre pots), new batch of nutrients, a couple of 6500k low wattage CFL's as a compliment to the HPS, new seeds the whole shebang. I'm quite excited for it!

I did have an idea where I wanted to compare the taste of different strains which had similar gentics. I wanted to do a Diesel flavour grow, so Strawberry Diesel, Lemon Diesel, Raspberry Diesel etc etc. But I couldn't find many Diesel's which were named after fruits hence the categories of flavours haha.

Just a heads up on the whole cfl versus hid thing which is relevant since you are only growing a few plants. If you click the link in my signature you will see that the last grow I did was done using only cfl lighting. This was done for 2 reasons.

First would be the heat. I find it easier to deal with the heat put off from a few cfl's versus the heat put off from an hid equivalent to my total cfl wattage.

Second and more important is the fact that I have to pay for the electricity I use. Because of that I want to know that the light I am providing my plants is in a spectrum that my plants will use. By using the proper spectrum cfls I'm able to ensure that my electricity is being used in the most efficient manner possible. Hid lighting is incredibly wasteful in this aspect with a lot of the light being put out in a spectrum that isn't really helping your plant growth.

If you're growing in a walk in closet then by all means get yourself a big hid because it's just going to be easer to deal with but for someone who is growing just a few plants for personal use, cfls are perfectly adequate.

Back to my last grow. Using only cfl's I ended up with 5.73 ounces of dried cured bud off 2 plants even after snipping a few buds here and there to smoke or give to friends. I think that once you have a certain amount of light in your grow space, the real secret to pulling decent yields all comes down to technique. Big pots, good soil, no under or over watering, topping, and lst. Even more key is giving them a proper veg time of at least 1 month.

This grow I'm trying some new stuff totally for the hell of it. I've always topped, lst'ed, and vegged for at least 1 month. It's just been the natural thing for me since I started. This time I'm trying the 12/12 from seed style and I won't be topping at all. I'll lst a little if I feel the need but I'm running 6 plants instead of 2. If they all turn out female then I'll be anxious to compare my overall yield versus what I usually get. Anyways you can click my link and take a look at what I did there as far as lighting goes.
